Crashed drone!! AND LOST FOOTAGE?!

I have crashed my Syma X8G a few times and wonder if there is any way to retrieve the footage. When I put the SD card into the computer, it will show a file for that video taken, and also will give the amount of MB it takes up. But it won't play, and it only shows the standard quicktime symbol. I know that it isn't working because I didn't get the chance to stop the recording, but now that I have some cool videos of me dropping my drone out of the sky, is there a way to view and export those clips?

Just a shot in the dark but I've had several Symas (various models) that came with bad SD cards and acted as you described. I went out and just got my own better quality cards and they work fine.

The file may have gotten corrupt in the crash, like perhaps it couldn't close properly. Try reading it into some other application, such as a video converter (like Movavi), or video editor, like Moviemaker or iMovie and see if it can be read and viewed, or converted. There are tools for fixing corrupt video files - do a search...
