Crash !!! Ahem, looking to upgrade parts, suggestions ?

Oops, it's been a long time since I last posted on here, apologies for that, how is everyone ?

Anyway, last time I was out had a little bit of a crash... full speed head-first into the hillside while I was, ahem, practicing without auto-level. The two front frame arms pretty much disintegrated, both carbon fibre props snapped (found one about 5 metres away, must have been like a flying knife), at least one motor bell is buckled and at least one ESC broken. Pic attached !

The board looks ok, a KK2.1.5, radio receiver ok, I have spare 1045 props and I actually have enough frame parts to rebuild it (it's a 450), but it gives me a chance to upgrade my motors and ESCs - they are currently EMAX 25A ESC's and Sunnysky X2212 motors. I like to fly LOS.

Suggestions for motors and ESCs ?

I'm more of a 220-250 guy but I did do one 450 that uses the racetstar motors:

And the hakrc escs:

Don't know how "good" these are but my 450 flies good.

On a side note, these escs have built in, programmable led lights that you can change colors on, and you can change the start up tune. Not important but still cool lol.

just been reading up on stuff - oh my word I'm so behind the times - ESCs with SimonK firmware and built-in BEC, my PDB is just two strips on a circuit board that everything is soldered into - yuk, definitely time to upgrade. I'm liking the looks of those ESCs, and a regular Matek pdb works I assume. Haven't looked into those motors yet.

Is the KK2.1.5 still a decent controller, or are there better nowadays ? I like the stevies firmware, 1.19 I've been using.

Yes the Matek is what I used. For the escs you'll need the blheli suite configuriter that only runs on windows computers. As for your flight controller I'm not familiar with that one although I'm fairly new at this myself. Welcome to 2019 world of quads!
