hi guys....i'm working on my first build, a quad with naze32 fc, 20 amp afro esc's and using a turnigy 9x and receiver. using cleanflight 1.12.1. problem is....i can't throttle the motors up through the radio. when in the receiver tab cleanflight shows changes to throttle commands given by the 9x but no motors spin up. the motors do spin when commands are given in the motors tab. i've missed something or ignored some instruction somewhere. can anyone help get me back on track. thanks...jtdrive

hey, thanks for the reply. receiver has ppm output. i designated that input in cleanflight and plugged the receiver output into position 4 on the input bank of 10. i designated the input signal type as sbus. the board seems to be getting the commands from the receiver, as indicated by the response in the throttle, pitch, yaw graphics on the receiver tab, but the board stops at that. does the signal need to be further defined in cleanflight or????

If it's the receiver that comes with the X9 - this one

it does NOT have PPM output or SBus, you need the 5-wire harness between receiver and board. And don't forget to disable PPM in your Cleanflight CLI

yes, that is the correct receiver. i had a pwm to sbus encoder, from rtf quads hooked up at the time. since then however, i fed pwm leads from the receiver to channels 1-4 on the fc, enabled pwm, disabled sbus on configurations tab and then proceeded to screw around with everything in cleanflight. hey, it was 3:00 am and i was tired and frustrated as a man can be. at some point while in the motors tab, the motors fired up with input from the transmitter. i then disconnected from my laptop and nothing. reconnected to laptop and nothing since. will disable ppm and... silly maybe, but why a 5 channel harness for 4 driven motors.
