Was hoping someone could quickly take a look at these two videos:

Both are the same motor, essentially the motor will either start up and pulse, or it will just sit their and twitch.
I've tried re-connecting the "bullet" connectors (the wires to the motors) - which tricked me into thinking I'd fixed it b/c it worked for a few minutes. I also unplugged another motor and swapped the bad one into its place (same results) - so it's either the wiring from the connector to the motor, or within the motor itself.
TL;DR
Am I going to need a new motor? Or can this be fixed?
oh, and I definitely crashed my quad into a tree - which is probably what caused this.
I've looked at buying 2300kv D2204 - but there are a ton of different models, will it hurt if I don't buy the exact same type?
