Changing JJRC H43WH WIFI, app controlled quad to radio controlled?

... I did find a WiFi controller: https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https://www.ebay.co.uk/ulk/itm/382278860233 (color: remote control only). But I thought that as my quad had 2.4ghz then it would be more future proof to just buy a normal controller. However, now I know that is not true, I would be interested in knowing whether that controller would actually work with my quad?
If you scroll down to the description of the "Global Drone" that accompanies the controller that you linked to, you will notice:

"Global Drone 6-axes X183 With 2MP WiFi FPV HD Camera GPS Brushless Quadcopter

Description:
  • Model:Global Drone X183 GPS
  • Frequency : 2.4G...."
Communication between the drone & the controller is 2.4G while the camera to smartphone is WiFi.

I can't see the link, but the H43wh is controlled off a phone or tablet.
I don't think I've seen a physical stick Tx for WiFi. You could swap the WiFi fcb with a brushed fcb. & get a 2.4ghz Tx.
That's no major mod, everything else should work with another board.
just some hot glue at worst. Like RENOV8R says it's a $40 toy,
is it worth it. Buy a 2.4ghz set.
If I did buy a brushed flight controller and 2.4ghz transmitter and fitted it in my existing drone, though, couldn’t I then take it out and use it on a future build my own quad project? Is there any reason why I can’t use my existing quad as basically a frame for my own quad? What I’m thinking is, that way, I can gradually upgrade everything on my quad and it’s not one big cost all at once.

Also, how would you tweak how the quad flies? Would you take the flight controller out and reprogram it with a pc? Is that what you would do to tweak things while building your own quad?

Thanks! So basically all drones that come with controllers also have some sort of non-WiFi Rx?

Yes, yes & yes. You would just plug in a USB to change settings.
SP racing evo, brushed fcb, is cleanflight or betaflight compatible.
