Can't Get Off the Ground

Evening all. I'm not sure where this question would be best asked so if this is the wrong topic hopefully the moderators can help me out.

I just purchased a UDI U818S quadcopter on what can be best described as an impulse buy. My intent is/was to try my hand at some arial photos and maybe some cool footage of my friends and I boating or ATVing.

Problem is..... I can't even get the dang thing off the ground, lol.

I had it up (10-15') for a few minutes right out of the box but that was it. Now I can't get the controller to bind/sync(?).

It's the basic remote not the FPV but all I get is the quad flashing and the LED on the remote to blink. Best i get is the signal to flash on for a sec, the motors twitch, and then right back to flashing. No flying fun for this rookie.

Any ideas what I'm doing wrong? Thank you for any advice.

I have a UDI U818A quadcopter and it works just fine. The only time the lights flash and the controller beeps is when the battery is low. Pairing is easy. Leaving the battery disconnected from the quad, I turn on the controller, run the throttle up and down once, connect the battery to the quad and hear the controller go "beep-oop-boop" and it's ready to fly. If you are not doing that, that may the problem. If you are then either the controller or the quad has a problem.

Sorry, but that's about the level of tech I am at with quads.

LoneRCRanger sounds like he has you going in the right direction. Most of the RTF binding/ unlock problems seem to come from not following the manual EXACTLY. This can be more complicated than it sounds when the translation from Chinese is literal. This can be confusing( and a bit funny) but usually you will find somebody, like LoneRCRanger who has figured it out. Contact the distributor if you still have problems. Hopefully they can at least spell customer service.......:p

It turned out the battery that came with the unit was bad out of the box. I took it to a local hobby shop and we rigged it to run a more common style battery. Flys great now!
