Can you refurb/upgrade a RTF Quad with ........................

I am looking ahead to the day I crash and kill one of my 4 quads. For instance if my Phantom 3 Standard dies an untimely demise. Can I use stuff from vendors to repair and or upgrade. I am sure motors are a possibility. How about the various electronic components???

But in the case of my Phantom, you can not get the main PCB that is in the camera/gimbal assembly. DJI will not sell it. Not to me or any of their "special vendors". You have to buy the entire assembly. Or send it in for repair. As you can see in that link you sent.

My point is. if my camera works and the gimbal works. Why would I want to pay $230 for a new assembly. Anyway, DJI may be a bad example as probably the entire quad is proprietary.

Is this the case with all RTFs???
