Buying A Controller

If you buy a quad that requires buying the controller separately, how do you select one that will work with your quad? Is that controller likely to work with other quads?

Thanks for your help.

Typically, you would install a receiver in the quad that matches your controller. For instance, if you owned an FRSky (X9D Plus, QX7, Horus) controller, there are dozens of receivers to choose from for any type of quad or application.

I'm not sure what you're asking as the term "controller" has been used to in the following contexts: Flight Controller, R/C transmitter. IF you are asking about a flight controller, then there are plenty of them out there - all should work, but not all offer the same functionality, so it depends on what features you want. If you're talking about the R/C end of things - receivers, transmitters, then RENOV8R is right...

Its probably better to think of those 2 things as the same as PC language or video game language (cant easily put a xbox controller on a playstation). Both parts have to be set in the same language and protocol, so instead of mac or pc its flysky, spectrum, Hitec, Futaba, or Deviation to name the most poplular.

Does this tx really do everything it says, and do it well? Like say I bind it to my bugs 3. Will I still get 3-400 yard range?

The reviews are very good. However, the first generation didn't support the Bugs series protocol, and I don't believe this one does, either. It does support some MJX models, but not the Bugs, I don't think.
