Built new frame, now it won't fly!

Hey guys and girls, I have a problem that I hope you can help me with.
I started out with an hmf totem q330, kk fc, 30a esc, 2200mah batteries, 2212 Mars power motors and 8045 props. It flew like a dream as soon as I'd built it, then I crashed it (lots) and broke an arm. Not a problem, built a new one from Ali! Flew ok, but balance wasn't good so I put it back in the box and took my time building a new Ali frame for it. It won't fly at all now, one of the motors seems to be constantly changing speed so when trying to take off it wobbles then flips. With the rotors off and the motors spinning you can hear the motor speed change, and if you tilt the quad the motor speed changes again, doesn't make a difference if auto level is on or off.
I'm baffled, it was flying fine before I put it away (despite the badly balanced diy arm) and now it's back together on the new frame it refuses to fly.
Any idea what the problem might be?
 
Did you just rebuild it and try to fly with the same settings as before? After a crash and rebuild, it's always good to do a complete check of all settings in your software and recalibration including ESCs

There's a reason I posted in the newbies section! The idea of tuning the fc scares me a little bit, never even tried first time I built it as it flew fine as soon as I plugged the battery in. Guess I was just lucky!
 
Ali, aluminum. Got loads of it at work so thought I'd make a frame from the scraps.
Renov8r, went on YouTube and found a video on how to tune the pi settings on my fc, it flies again!! Thankyou for your help
