brushless motors

after labourious weeks of research, i am able to determine that a 13xx motor uses 9mm spacing on the mounting. this is amazingly helpful to know, bvecause then, i can look for frames with 9mm spacing. on the *off chance* that the frame actually notes it somewhere. i mean, i can always watch a couple of hours of youtube videos and hope that someone leaves their tape measure lined up next to the frame so i can figure it.

what i think would be AMAZING is if i could KNOW what size mounting each motor size needs.

i think that would be so AMAZING.

really. AMAZING is the totally authorised word for that kind of thing.

because i feel like i am gonig ot have to die and get chopped into tiny bits before i EVER find that out.

i remember this dude telling me, in vietnam, dude had the back end of a worm that had crawled into an open wound wrapped around a matchstick. every day, they would try to gently wind a little more around the match stick, but not break it, because when the worm divides, the worm becomes more worms.

i'm an old person now and i've seen alot of the traumas life has to offer, so this doesn't seem like such a big deal any more.

but in reality, i am not prepared to handle the stress that comes with trying to find out what freaking motor and frame go together.

i realise how totally unreasonable i'm being in expecting that somehow, this information should be furnished to persons intending to purchase components.

i am going to shout and shout at clouds now until they give me a sensible universe back.

i'd like to add to this discussion before anyone else intercedes,

KKKKKKKKKAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHNNNNNNNNNNNN

another thing i am GUESSING about -

i want some 1104 motors. if you look at a picture of an 1104 motor, it has a bare cylindrical shaft.

if you look at a picture of an 1104 with a prop on it, the prop has little screws that go into it around the shaft.

i initially figured, those screws would go into something on the shaft of the motor. i am now *guessing* that they do not, that their function is, instead, to simply expand the nylon/whatever prop on each side of the shaft and make if fit by compression. they do not actually form a mechanical connection by screwing through one thing and into another.

can somebody give the lord a handclap.

okay it's 2pm here and i have been online researchign this since 5am, after bed at 10pm.

since 5am this morning i have learned:
13xx motors have 9mm mount hole spacing. *maybe* 11xx motors do as well!
prop numbers are length and pitch in inches.

it would have taken about four seconds for a kind human being to communicate these two pieces of information to me, instead of me p*ss*ng away years and years of my life.

it's also a full moon today and i have so much bad energy in me from sitting here working this machine for days that seriously i could rip a hole through your impala.

you ever want to tell me some stuff, you know, it could actually be a benefit for all of humanity. we work together like that, even if you deny.

for my three days off, i have accomplished: knowing i want 3" tri-blade props on 110? motors.

that is all.

i have to go outside now and look at somethnig that doesn't hate me all day.

but i'm still wondering what those screws on the props do. it's a total b*stard. i even went through youtube videos... think i could find anyone attaching them to a motor? *nope* i am totally in. the. dark.

what a great civilisation to make an old man suffer endlessly because no one can be bothered to say what size mounts motors and frames use. when those asteroids start raining down, all i will be able to say is, shucks, maybe i coulda helped with my brilliant mind and all, but i was too busy cleaning your freaking toilets because you're all b*stards to me.

Sir, I'm afraid you expect too much from civilization. Answers will not fall from the sky. Some of those loud mouths you would expect to have a valued opinion to offer, probably think they have some livelihood that would then be jeopardized by giving away said info. Your biggest friends are google & youtube (listen to the limey twitching the props). Learn what the shorthand and numbers mean. I'm an idiot granite guy that managed to put my 220 together with little more help than that.
I do feel your pain on the specs for the small build though. Motor mount size for motors vs. frame and such. The sizes seem to vary a lot in the micro range.
Maybe I'll post about the 130 I'm waiting for parts for when it's done.

Watch out chuck is an ex cop who would f¿©K you over because you've done nothing wrong. Top gun my arse I suppose you second name is norris.

Very hard way because I just got back in from flying & having a nice chat with a local copper on there views over drones.
He was flying a 1meter wing that was in excess of 100kph. Now that in the wrong hands is dangerous. He was playing around with that 400' ceiling more than I ever will & using long distance uhf kit. I asked him could I take a pic but he declined. I didn't ask why. I suspect it was his uhf he had no ham licence for. I couldn't watch on my goggles but this guy was good. He says as long as I stay below 400' do what you want within reason. If you can prove you done nothing wrong then you got nothing to worry about. I got a 64gb & 128gb sd cards. The 64gb can record 20 battery's worth on my nopro.
So it's on all the time anyway. If I could be bothered i would dig that file out to show you how low this pilot was. Then chuck would have to say OK the pilot was in the wrong. Anything other than the truth is fake news & deliberately giving drones a bad name solely for the dispersal of the hobby but keeping it for commercial applications. We know what's going on. If it's banned, as long as they sell parts I'm going to fly. Then the likes of chuck will get there way. Because I will break the law then. Or I'll just go back to planes or a wing. So yes we will see. But no chuck still looking to f¥€k me over because he couldn't get me on anything. Sour cop will wait & wait but it's me who has patience & law on my side aswell.

a question? ... "this is not art, it's a campaign" :p

the whole thing did me in and i'm going with a prefab, flysky i6, all the low end kipple. aaand i'm out of budget on this for a while, my heat pump just died. july in arizona yeah.

cops are alright. too many serious problems around here (border), we have a seriously mind blowing police force. you go the next counties over, as corrupt as they get, but around here, 90% of them are seriously good people. you'd have to be. i'll stop there because it's like telling a fairy story, and i've seen a lot of people hurt by the other kind.

I use the flysky i6 with ia6-ia6b-ia6c-A8S
Nothing wrong with em & all served well.
Just that the ia6 rx is tight for small builds around 150-180mm

i think that's the option i got (decided to risk mode 1, lefty) hoping that the "flysky" rx option on the kingkong 110GT covers binding.

now i'll have an extra rx to put in something.....

...there's a downed ww2 fighter in the desert around here .... secret location :) couple of em around the state.

so if i can ever pull this together, my fpv footage might be mildly amusing.

aaahhh.... the relief of consumer activity. i do buy things, every few years or so.

doubtful any drone aspirant will labour through my agonies, if you do -

i was about to check out at banggood when i was told i needed 16 points to achieve vip2 status. so i cleared everything out of my cart and bought the $17 item separately. ....... still needed 16 points. followed that, "completed my profile" and rec'd the necessary points to be a vip2.

the $17 item told me it would be $14 if i were vip2. i figured, other items may have this quality also. they didn't. so no money saved.

it's worth writing about because these pages take about 2 mintues to resolve to a usable state. and once you place something in your wish list from the cart, clicking "add cart" just takes you to the product page, where you have to select your options again.

so it took about forty five minutes i didn't need to take to place everything back in the cart.

i've been through an inordinate amount of "real serious things" in my life, so i can't be that angst about it, can i.

it's a terrible way to be, really. once i had this idea that you should tell people how they can improve, because it makes things better so they will appreciate it and it will benefit everyone! yeah. but it doesn't work that way. it's complaining, come plain, come plain, and everybody will hate you for your assertion that they are less than perfect. that's just how it is. they're dealing best they can, criticism is just an impediment. so never make these kinds of posts.

My, my, my. Aren't you the paranoid one? A cop warns you about "stepping too close to the edge of the cliff", and you interpret that as "an attempt to push you over to your death". You do know that the easiest thing for law enforcement to do is to simply remain silent while watching, and then make the arrest once you "cross the line". Letting you plead to the judge that "you didn't mean to do it", "it was accidental", "everybody is doing it" (I like that last one. It works so well for highway speeders, drunks, and petty thieves, doesn't it???), etc....

Still sounding like a cop I'm just flying in my legal airspace. Your turning my situation into something different. Like I was in the wrong. So put yourself in my position. What would you have done?
Packed up or carry on flying or do what I did on his first pass I landed. On a second pass I landed & on the 3rd fourth & fifth very low passes I waited. Then I thought he was leaving so I'm up flying.
But no he was taking a run up for his lowest pass yet.
So I'm thinking at that point. F. U. I've got rights & 15 batteries to get thru on a lovely sunny day. So how that equates to what you are insinuating on the other post. Or where you go on about you will get done for something else is totally unfounded. It may work like that in the states but UK rozzers are pretty dope.
I'm sorry if I offended you, I just couldn't see how you came to that conclusion. I have no reason to lie, that was the situation.

chuck, can we just drop it, or have mike come in here and close it up?

if you're gonna be a cop and do stuff that affects peoples lives, try and be a human being.

human beings aren't perfect until whoops they drive too fast and get a ticket. human beings live complex lives. take a look at the world around you. if it doesn't make you paranoid, *you are not looking hard enough*

when dealing realistically with people, not with machines, you need to have tolerance for misperception. you migh tbe walking into the door of your walmart, but the guy who is walking out the door has just seen people macheted to bits in west papua and has some angry mobsters after him because he had sex with their bosses daughter twenty five years ago.

get off the case man.

this is how you come across:

my car stalled on an upwards incline and would not start because of the incline. the woman behind me was too close for me to take my foot off the brake to start the car.

i got out of my car and said, can you please go around me, i need to roll back, my car isn't running. this was after a good while of trying to wave her (just her...) around me.

she said, IT'S THE LAW. CARS ON THE ROAD HAVE TO GO FORWARDS.

well, the law of gravity says wheels on an incline go the other way.

you get to pick, man's law, or the laws of physics.

then her eyes opened up all the way because i hadn't put my emergency brake on properly and she said YOUR CAR IS GOING DOWNHILL and pulled around me.

in the end, she understood the law of physics i was trying ot relate to her, and she went around me. it was great, i had a really great day adfter that silly person got out from behind my back end and went on her way instead of acting like my doing something wrong was the most interesting thing in the world.

it's not. it's as boring as my posts. makes less sense, and accomplishes nothing.

like i said, i live in tucson. life is *complex* here because of multiculturalism. two homeless guys walking down the street with halberds? that's tucson. i'm cool if you live a cookie cutter life but go and do it in the cookie cutter thread. you have no clue how to encourage lawful behaviour in moz, neither do i.

and, it's not your responsibility.

please, can this thread just be about the dumb stuff i write in it, because i am like the rock star of this thread and good in bed.

if you think things are messed up now, imagine how they'd be after i drink a cup of coffee. i'm a developer. my wpm is faster than anything you fly.
