Blade 350 qx waste of money !

This product is junk! Body made of cheap plastic Not room for error, poor design all together, battery lid comes off in flight, one wrong move and it and it will
drop from mid air! Same your money don't mess around with horizons cheap crap and go with the dji! Horizon Hobby makes cheap crap!

Funny I have had my 350QX for about six months now and have had no such problems maybe it is the person that is doing the flying, it is not cheap and the body is made of the same material as the Phantom, as for room for error I have had mine in the air with ten mile a hour wind and have had zero problems at all. Maybe you should stick with Hubsan. Oh and it is SAVE not Same! Also HH has much better Customer Service than DJI and maybe you should have called them instead of posting this Drivel!

One bad experience with these items could be from just bad luck of getting the one with glitches. I build my own from scratch and I have had one Quad give me nothing but problems. It was not the build or the builder. It was just a technical glitch that took me a while to figure out. I ended up re-sinking all my ESC's one by one, updated their firmware, and updated the firmware on my NAZA Board. It was fixed and she runs perfect.

I can't see how a manufacturer could passably produce thousands of these very precise machines with each one having many different controlling processors and then expects them to work right out of the box. If you buy one and you live in Florida and I buy one and I live in Ohio they will both fly in a very different manner until the GPS is calibrated to our locations. My GPS has to be turned 5 degrees counter clockwise to make up for the magnetic pole. If you have a quad that is giving you fits you should just return it right from the start or suffer what I go though and check each component one by one, updating and re-calibrating as you go. My newest build started two weeks ago and as of today she flew the first time in a perfect manner. Now all I have to do is balance each one of my 12x4.5 carbon-fiber blades and motors to get that perfect no shake, jello free video. That is about a one to two hour job if everything goes well.

One time I had a bad speed controller and it took me days to fix it because you can't find it right off the bat. These items are high tech and really should only be taken on by someone who is willing to put in the time to learn every aspect to their flying characteristics and technical set-up. It takes me well over a week to build a perfect running multi-rotor and, man do I get frustrated when it doesn't work right on the first flight but I stick with it.

To expect perfection out of an item that costs under $500.00 is actually in my mind asking for way to much. Just the cost of the motors and ESC's I use in my builds costs me close to $400.00. Then a good controller cost about $400.00. It costs $200.00 for a good control board and GPS system. The battery used in my H4 Hornet costs $125.00. That is over $1,000.00 and we haven't even got the frame, wires, heat shrink, blades, camera, and the other misc. stuff.

If you want a great flying item for around $400.00 I would stick with RC planes. They come with auto pilot and all the same features as the quads and you only have one ESC and motor to deal with when you have a problem. Flying FPV from a plane is way more less-stressful and it is just as much fun plus it will leave you loving the hobby and as you get better and understand the technical part of the electronics you can move up to the quads and you will have a great appreciation and understanding of the problems that arrise.

To call people names because of their frustration only leaves them upset and wanting to argue and defend. We should take the time to understand that we are no better than the person sitting on the other end of the screen. We may know more about a certain area in our hobby because of our own mistakes but everyone makes them starting out. Lord knows I sure did. I have destroyed 4 450 size helicopters, 2 Raptor 50's, 1 $450.00 plane, two Gaui 330X's, and a few smaller toy sized ones. I also have learned from every mistake and I will openly share it with anyone who asks.

So, Saltwater, Don't get discouraged because you got a bad quad. Try to research the issue you had and see if you can fix. You will be so happy when you finally do. If it drops out of the sky it could have been in ATI mode and the stick was taken down too far trying to descend. If you drop below 10 percent on the left stick it keys some multi-rotors to shut off. If you battery reaches a critically low voltage and your return home hasn't been set-up it could drop like a rock.

If you post what it did I will try to see if I can offer some help.

Like I said! It's junk! If you want a cheap little plastic toy that will break, and I did contact hobby horizon,I'm not going to argue with you,I've moved on from horizon hobby, dji has great customer service, and quality quadcopters, dji are not little toys for little boys! I have dji products for photography not to take to the park and play with cheap toys!

Mo you are wrong, they do not use the same material for their bodies, the blade is made of type c and a plastics dji uses type a c and u,bid difference! If you have any error in takeoff it will just break a blade on dji,the blade will have a lot more damage, the connecting screws on the dji have their own hub, where as the blade just has screws in plastic, there is no comparison.dji is much more than blade will ever be! I started his thread to warn people before they buy a quadcopter decide what you want first a cheap toy or a quality quadcopter

whoever started this thread is right, the blade 350 quadcopter is a expensive cheap made drone, lost 2 of them one with a new hero 3, have got over 200 hrs in the air, this toy is going to hurt someone!

Yes I agree that the 350 qx by blade is poor design, they use cheap plastic that will break real easy, this is not a toy for kids and at the same time an adult is going to hurt someone with this pos,dji seems to be more than a toy,it is great for Ariel photography, dji stands behind their product,it just takes some time,Horizon Hobby is quicker to fix their (crap)

I have no experience with the Phantom, but I have heard from reliable sources that it is an excellent product.
I purchased the Blade 350QX, RTF w/Firmware 2.0 from LHS three weeks ago. I've had a few minor issues with it, but nothing I couldn't deal with. The documentation needs work, for sure. I've had it out about fifteen times and it's still together. Also, it works as advertised. I may buy another someday, if they come out with an ARF version.

I have purchased a Gaui 330x which is the same size as the Phantom. This is probably the best air-frame for this sized quad on the market and I will explain why I feel this way. You can buy the Naza M-Lite control board and put it in a Naza Protector for safety purposes. You will have the same flying craft as far as size goes but it have a wonderful feature. It is designed to pop apart on impact and the motors have connectors that are designed to just pull apart on impact. This is the quadcopter I learned to fly quads with. While learning I would do some fairly crazy maneuvers with it and I crashed it quite often. The Gaui when it hits the ground or the side of a cliff at full speed, LOL, shoots into several pieces as it distributes the impact energy. Once you go and pick up the pieces you just snap it back together and the little thing sail away. If you break an arm or a mount you only have to replace the arm at a cost of $19.00 verses the coast of a new frame. It also has a good assortment of cam mounts and landing skids to choose from on Ebay.

In closing, the pros are the Gaui 330 X is the same type of craft as the DJI Phntom as long as you use the DJI Naza M-Lite board with GPS with a better crash repair cost. The scorpion motors are great as far as efficiency and run time and are of better quality than the Phantom motors in my opinion. The cons are it is a bit more expensive unless you already have a controller to fly it with. You also have to set up the Gaui 330 X on your own as far as flight quality and tune it to your flying style.

I have had mine for 5 years and crashed it so many times I couldn't give a number, and it still has the same motors and ESC's and I have only had to replace two arms and some blades. My Gaui 330 X has become my crazy flying craft for stunts and stuff because my camera ships are now from my own line of Quadcopters.

Hmm. I did consider both the Phantom and the Blade 350 QX. A couple local vendors tried to steer me toward the blade, which did look visibly cheaper in build quality to be honest. I was leaning toward the Phantom, but with all of the add ons, the nice camera gimbal, the FPV system, better props and motors etc., it put it close enough to the price of the bigger quads that I figured I might as well get a bigger badder ship. But yeah, given you can get versions of the Phantom pretty cheap, I think I'd go with the DJI in that showdown.

I also own a 350qx. Never had a problem like the others have. Was about 50 feet in air and accidentally touched the throttle stop button and it fell straight to the ground . I thought it was ruined but it only had a broken landing gear and a wire broke on compass. Replaced parts a was flying again with no issues. Also I have had issues and HH has always taken care of me!
