Bitten by another quad bug..................

If it ain't broke, don't fix it??? You kidding?
Well, my son has tried from my beginning with drones to build a "racer". Wasn't really my "thing" at the time. Then with FPV on Frankendrone and also on one of my X8s I found I kinda like the idea of going faster.

Then in one of my all nighters, I came across a guy on FB forum that was GIVING away some older quad gear. And I mean a lot of gear. Including one 210mm quad that needed a battery only. So I told him I would like some stuff and would pay for Paypal fees and shipping for anything he would box and ship to me. Long story short........I got a ton of parts. I got enough for the 210mm(which all I had to do was get a battery and put in my own Rx, just gotta mount the FPV) a complete 250mm quad extra goods out that wazoo.

I got a couple batteries, checked everything on the 210mm on betaflight. On my first morning with it, I made it to the barn and back(140yds total) in less then 10 seconds. Now I'm not flying it until I get the FPV system installed. For me, this thing is wicked fast and quick and would be out of my LOS in a matter of seconds.

Anyway, here's my first real speed demon.............

Nothing better than free stuff! The battery balance lead is loose, just make sure it can't reach the props
Hey Renov8r........replaced the FS iA6 Rx with the FS X6B and moved it to the front. So now, my balance pig tail will be tucked under my battery and the plug will sit down in a cutout on the top plate. My first flight taught me the dangers of having dangly bits. That iA6 is the second Rx.........the first having had the antennas(both of them) shortened by the props...............this thing is so crazy, if it dangles it gets cut.

Once you get the hang of zipping around low and fast, the idea of floating around high and slow becomes utterly boring ;)

I still have a lot of fun flying all kinds. I fly toy grade and hobby grade quads LOS, GPS camera bird, brushed and brushless FPV "racers" and love them all. I'm pretty much a rookie with the FPV stuff, but it's all fun to me in different ways.

I can go to the park with a Bugs 3, an Aurora 100, and a Phantom 4 and I have a blast with all three. Then later fly a Syma X5 in my front yard and an Eachine E010S in the house and those are fun, too. Maybe I'm weird. o_O

No, not weird, just into your hobby. I'm getting there in baby steps.

Do you have any goggles? Off so, which drone do you use then on?

I use Eachine VR D2 goggles with the Aurora 100 and the Eachine "tiny whoop". They're not the best goggles in the world, but they're decent performers and very affordable. If you're patient, you can probably pick up a set for $79.99.

I use the same as Rick M. The Eachine VR D2 Pro. The have a freq. scan and a built in DVR. The only thing I don't have set up for FPV is my E010s.............My S500(Frankendrone), both my X8s, my Bwhoop B-03 and my scratch built 8520 mini.............

I really like flying FPV...........

Do you good use a sitter when in FPV? I don't have a lot of wide open areas in Florida.

I don't, but I never fly anywhere near people. Except my girlfriend, who has become used to me buzzing around her when I'm flying in the house with the E010S. She has a special hand signal to tell me when I get too close, or if I hover right in front of her. :D

I don't know if I'm assuming to much, but I think I've probably seen that special hand signal a few times.
