Betaflight gps failsafe mode

Got my new Chimera 7 flying now and next comes setting up gps rescue as my failsafe. I’ve watched JB’s video about best settings but I have a more technical question.

When a Betaflight configuration goes into gps rescue does it take complete control of the flight controller pitch, roll, yaw and throttle to fly the profile you programmed until you take control back by disarming it?

Just curious about what is going on while it seems to be flying itself. And I’m not sure I understood how to take control back if the failsafe does kick in and can now safely fly it myself.

Thanks

Mike

Never mind. Tried it out Zumba live streams today and it seems to work. Turned around and came back toward my takeoff position pretty quickly.
Glad to hear it worked out! Sounds like everything is functioning as expected. It’s always a good idea to test things firsthand sometimes that’s the best way to know for sure. If anything changes or you notice odd behavior next time, feel free to dig in a bit more.
