Best reliable flight controller board?

So i don't know if its the FC board I'm using or the motors but i cant get my quad to fly straight or go up straight or anything. I'm constantly having to change the settings on my remote to get it to fly straight but then when I try to take off again I have to adjust the setting again.

So im sending back the FC and motors.
Im currently using the KK FC and the multistar elite 2216 920kv motors.

Is there a better quality motor and FC I could use?

HI mate the KK is a stable board I have 3 quads on this board and all fly well , The KK does like to have a base set up , the transmitter must be stable ( no gimbal feed back)when you go into monitor screen on the KK all must read zero ( not aux this is just a switch channel) you sub trim to read zero ,so if transmitter is Non programable this can give you problems
As for the motors the only must have is an ESC which has BLheli or simonk firmware as the coding works to sink motors up and hold steady RPM in flight
If you really dont like the KK look at the Nase or the nazaM

Well ive tried to do pretty much anything to get this quad to fly stable. It always wanted to take off in a different direction, never straight up

i cant even reload the programming onto the kk cause i have windows 10 and for some reason and cant detect the usb port.
Only thing i have changed on the kk is the minimal throttle.

I cant calibrate the motors at all. When i follow the youtube video on how to do it my setup does nothing like in the video

Nothing on this quad is working one bit

Two thoughts; 1) Windows 10 is a nightmare. Borrow a laptop that has not been upgraded and reset your KK. 2) I don't know anything about the Futaba Skyport 4 but many older Tx reset their trim to flat when you turn them off. That could be the cause of your problem. Actually I have three thoughts; 3) A good radio is a very worthwhile investment. Most of the new ones remember your settings for each model. Spectrum makes very good radios and they are upgradeable. Even if a new radio doesn't solve this problem you will need a better one anyway as you advance in the hobby. A quality radio makes flying a pleasure.

So whats a good upgrade radio.
Ive been looking at Futaba and Spektrum.

I dont have $300 at the moment. Looking somewhere around $150 to $200

How many channels should i go with? My minimal Im looking at is 6ch.

You can buy the Futaba 6KA for under $200.00. It also supports sbus so when you upgrade your quad and get a more sophisticated FCB you will only have a single wire hook up to the Rx. Have you checked on ebay for used radios? I got my Futaba 10JA $80.00 off w/free shipping on ebay. It was used as a demo at a dealer.

Havent seen alot of used yet but I havent looked a whole lot today. Going to look after I get home from school tonight.
Only thing is I dont wanan bid, I wanna buy it tonight or tomorrow and have it by the weekend lol

Maybe by tomorrow someone else will jump in with some more choices. I tend to stay with top brands and am unfamiliar with some of the other radios available out there. I know there have to be some good ones that will fit your budget.

Smart. Buying quality saves you money and frustration in the long term. A good radio will last you for years.. That's why God made credit cards........

If your looking for an out of the box radio then it may not be the best choice for you. There is a lot of information on the net thats makes it really easy to customize to your needs.

I would watch a youtube on using or setup before you jump in on all radios that are in the running.

Is the OrangeRX brand any good?
The Orange Rx is a universal receiver as is Lemon. ( see a trend here:cool:) They will work with many Tx brands. They don't work with Graupner, most Futaba and I don't believe they work with Spektrum. If you live near any Hobby shops you should stop in and get the feel of a couple of different radios. How do they fit your hands? How do the control sticks feel and are they adjustable? Does it look and feel like cheap plastic? Is it programmable and updatable? Most important, do you like it? Pick the right radio and you will enjoy it for years.
