Battery weight

Battery weight has no change in store charged or fully charged , charging is a chemical reaction in the battery
Charging spec is different with different types of batteries they normally give you a C rating for charging

Hey everyone! I’m diving deeper into DIY electronics and currently building a small battery-powered module. For this project, I’m focusing on choosing the right Battery Holders, Clips, and Contacts, and I keep coming across TE Connectivity AMP Connectors as one of the most reliable options on the market.

A lot of makers say that a stable power connection starts with good mechanical design — especially when the device might experience movement, vibration, or frequent battery swaps. So I’m trying to make sure I pick components that won’t cause voltage drops or intermittent power issues down the line.
I’ve looked through several TE Connectivity AMP models, but I’m still sorting out what’s best for a clean and durable setup.
Just wondering:
  • Are TE Connectivity AMP Connectors suitable for standard AA/AAA and coin-cell battery holders, or are they mainly optimized for higher-end industrial applications?
  • For better reliability, is it smarter to use PCB-mounted battery clips, or should I stick with external battery holders and run wire leads to the board?
  • Any best practices for avoiding loose battery contacts, micro-vibrations, or long-term fatigue in battery terminals?
I’m still at the planning stage before soldering anything, so I’d love to get this part right from the beginning.
Really appreciate any insights or firsthand experiences! ⚡🙌
