Battery charging - How/When etc.(HELP)

What is the BEST way(or correct way)to charge your battery`s.

I am new with QC,i baught the Syma X11c,it has 3.7V 250Mah Li-poly Battery included and i baught a 300Mah extra,i used them about ones a week, and after 3 mounths they where EMPTY

The shop where i baught them saying i should always charge the battery when its empty or after the flying,so to "store"them fully loaded.
BUTD i just read some where that its wrong because when not used the battery draines,so its best to charge them before your gonne use them(made sense to me)-see link

http://www.csmonitor.com/Technology/Tech/2014/0103/40-80-rule-New-tip-for-extending-battery-life

in this link(above) they talk about the 40-80% rule from Lithium battery`s(i asume mine/Li stands for Lithium?!),but i dont know if its possible with mine battery because it only has a fly time of 5-6 minutes, wich meanes that i have to fly 40%=about 3 minuts-wich is verry little/no fun-and how do you charge the battery til 80%.i guess you must have/buy a battery/volt reading device?

BUTD besides the 40-80% theory, they say only charge your battery just before you gonne use it,wich makes sense to me,because when i charge it after flying and lay the battery away and dont use it for 1 or 2 weeks,it will drain energy and will have little energy left and will fly for 1 minute and then have to charge it again to fly a bit more

so,does anybody know for shore from experiance which is the best way?

ehh because this takes away the fun,i realy like this things but to buy a new battery every 3 mounths for only flying about 5 -10 minutes a week is a bit crazy

That isn't how it works. It's not about your flight time, it's about the voltage of the battery. In the case of your Syma check the voltage after a full run it will probably be at about ~3.7V and as it cools probably ~3.8V. That 3.8V is basically the recommended 'storage' voltage.

Thanks, but i dont know what that meanso_O,"after full run"=you mean after fully loaded?
and when it "cools"=dos that mean when not used/stored???,but how come the Volt is higher(3,8)when its stored then when its just fully loaded, maybe iam interpeting all this stuff wrong(and sorry for wrong English)

but,i want just to know
1-should i A- load the battery after i used it(1 time flying)when i gonne store the battery or B-just store it empty and load it before i gonne use it o_O?o_O?o_O?

I would personally put some charge back into a flat battery after you have used it and if you plan on storing it for a while, I'd store at approx 3.6V per cell.

When it is flat, it is likely to be just above 3V. Lipo's shouldn't be allowed to drop below 3V per cell.

A fully charged 1 cell lipo will be around 4.2V.

You are better reading up on Lipo batteries if you're not sure about something. There's lots of stuff on the internet and as long as you follow a few basic rules they are fine.

I mean after a full flight (run). The battery will be warm after a full flight as it gets to room temperature (a few minutes) the voltage creeps up a small amount. You never want to charge (I guess you say load) a warm battery either.

My point was that the battery in toy quads like your Syma will never be completely empty after a full flight. The quad will drop from the sky long before then. I would also suggest you not charge (load) them till you want to fly again.

oke,Thanks :)for info,i thought so after reading that ,its the oposite of what those idiots on selling site segested(charge after every flight and store fully charged)which -now thinking-dosnt make sense and explains why the battery`s where "emty"after just 3 mounhts and a vew time flying, they probably wanne sell a lot of battery`s..the idiots
thanks again
