Turns out I didn't need to but at least I got to fly.
Attached a weight to my drone to drag stick off greenhouse roof

Never know, the weight probably could have helped by increasing the needed prop speed to maintain a hover, so you could say it was planned. If anyone asked that is what I'd tell them

Exactly, due to the extra weight the props had to create more downdraft which probably helped push the stick off.

Depending on the height of course, a broom or a rope could of had the same effect and would be less costly.

The hose wouldn't reach and the lowest point is about 14 feet in the air due to being constructed on a hill. Besides, what fun would a broom or rope have been?

True and it could be as much fun as picking up all the dog poop in the neighborhood with a "PoopsQuad" (Sounds like that name for that Indian in the book Moby Dick). Sorry, that was regarding another weird post.
