Anyone Failing To Register Their Quadcopter With The FAA.....

Some people think that AR means Assault Rifle.

It doesn't.

AR stands for Armalite, the manufacturer of the AR-15.

I have a Remington 700 sporting rifle that uses .223 ammo, the same as the AR 15.

More like the original inventor/designer. He was never able to get a contract from the government and had run out of money. Colt then bought the rights, made a few tweaks and started selling tons of them.

I just noticed how the registration has changed. When I signed up originally they had a DIY option. Says mine expires 12-12-2020. Back then one number would cover all your drones. The new clowns in charge continue to stick it to the little guys.

Here's a link to the FAQ on drone registration:

Q25. If I own multiple drones, do I have to register them all?

A. No. You may register once and apply the same registration number to all your UAS.

 ... "Registration ? We dunn need no stinkin registration !" (Treasure of the Sierra Madre)
"I WILL NOT COMPLY." (Star Trek) :D

Said those that don't reside in the USA. All others shall comply or receive a suite in Fort Leavenworth. Ain't a holiday there as I understand.

So wait a minute, we're now supposed to register each aircraft? When did that change? I was still going under the assumption that one number covered all my drones.

I noticed this line on the web site Jackson published:

Register your aircraft using this website if it weighs more than 0.55 lbs. (250 grams) and less than 55 lbs. (25 kg).

Notice that weight range, over 1/2 pound to 55 pounds. I don't have a drone that weighs over 1/2 pound. So, do I have to register? I don't know...

One registration for all aircraft is still the requirement. Any aircraft subject to registration is supposed to have your FAA number on it.

No...if the flying weight is < .55 lbs, you aren't required to register.

Well, I registered anyways. Better safe than sorry. Besides I may get one of those 54.999 lb drones for the hell of it. Imagine the size of the battery needed to lift that baby.
