sometimes I see an antenna with two masts which I presume is for the receiver. Does that increase the signal strength? And can it be mounted away from the location of the receiver by just extending the antenna wire from the receiver?
 
I also wanted to ask if I set the trim tabs, do they stay in that placement the next time or do they revert back to a nuetral position when the radio is turned off?
 
Hi mate the 2 antenna is for diversity so there is always one antenna getting a good signal , just try and set at 2 different planes( one out the back one upright)
as for the radio if it one of the new digital ones yes they will but you should not really need to trim a good quad as the FCB should be set up right and level so will stay level in a hover
