Antenna help, a quick question.

Hi mate yes you should be able to pick up the signal from transmitter on a spectrum analyser, or if your mate has a radio try and bind his to the quad receiver
I was thinking has the antenna got broken and blown the modulation chip , if your mates works then your radio is bad
 
Cool, I'll take it in and see if he has some time for me before I send it off. I'd prefer to get my own antenna and fit it than wait for a long time to get it sorted.
 
If the antenna is broken you may have to buy a modulation module too as these blow if there is no antenna attached and if it is broken it will see it as no antenna attached and blow

Just got my dx6i back from horizon. Really please with the service as it only arrived Monday morning, and I didn't have to pay a penny.
Replacement RF board and complete antenna replacement. £28 retail price.

Chuffed to bits.
Unfortunately someone forgot to put my RX back in the box so I've emailed them again but won't be a problem.

Looks like the RX is being replaced too.

I can only assume the previous owner or shipping caused damage to the tx as I have been over the top careful with it since I got it. Haha.

Still, flying a little simulator app has made me better already so I'm looking forward to flying again.
 
Thats good dont forget when you bind be over 6 feet away and sticks in the fail safe ( zero throttle and cyclic in the middle )
 
Hi all. just to re cap,
Ive managed to get it to bind to the orange receiver this morning, and went out a min ago. works great!
i have loads more range without any drop outs like i was having before. so most of my problem originally must have been the DX6i problem so when i get my RX back and put the sat receiver on ill never have any range problems.

also, i put so much time into a little phone app that it actually helped my flying now haha. thanks for the help.
 
Hi Now the DX6i is working 100% your should have 1 km to play with if you can see that far LOL
