So yesterday being payday, I had my allowance and it was burning a hole in my account and I had a list of items ready to be purchased.......

Then I get an email that puts a halt to everything, Uncle Sam wants my money.

SCREEEEEEECH goes my journey further into the RC world for a while.

I did, fortunately, purchase Liftoff before the email was received, so all is not lost!

Anyone else here on Liftoff I can add to my friends list?

I was worried they were taking out too little, but I wound up owing the fed $7 and the state $12. Came out about right.

We made the mistake of listening to a guy in the fern that handled my wifes 403 account and didn't set enough back for taxes from a 403 cashout. Put us over 1K in the hole.

What a mess, ours is a joke here in the UK but atleast it's paid weekly & done & dusted. Unless you are self employed.

I used to pay serious money to a professional firm to handle all that B.S. for me when I was self employed.
It was enough to handle managing a company, employees, inventory, products, customers, etc, etc
without having to worry about any financial aspects biting me in the ass because I hadn't thought of
whatever scenario which might cause me to tailspin ... lol ... money well spent imho

Well, it's certainly a lesson learned for the future.

On a positive note, I got out to the park and fought the wind with my wee Cx-30 for a bit for some LOS flying and was amazed how muscle memory from the sims kicked in and I was able to get some turns in.Still need some serious work on height and throttle management.

I SERIOUSLY doubt that the email came from the IRS - they do not send unsolicited emails. I would be VERY wary of any email purportedly being from the IRS claiming that you owe money. They send conventional (snail) mail to you.

I agree and made the incorrect statement, we do owe the tax man but I was behind on my car loan and didn't realize it. That email was a "call me asap." Combine those two and I'm grounded for a bit.

Agreed .... That's not far from those scams where they say "There's been a problem detected with your banking account(s),
please enter your information here for your security and account validation" ... then some poor schmuck does so and gets their account cleaned out

The one or two friends of mine that actually get refunds don't seem to mind. Although, I feel like they are silly for giving Uncle Sam an interest free loan.
