50$ Transmitter 4+CH with fail safe?

Hi there,

I've purchased every item I need to have for building my ZMR250 quad except for the transmitter (and receiver). I've done some research and found out the fail safe is a must to not lose your quad when your radio signal dies. Also, more than 4 channels on a transmitter seem to be very handy if you want to control more than your pitch, roll, throttle and yaw. My budget is quite tight so I hope there are some around $50 or less.

So if you know any great transmitters which match the requirements please share some recommendations :)

I have Flysky FS-T6, it comes with the reciever. I also installed a LiPo battery (don't need AA anymore).

If you don't know then take the props off, arm the FCB, and put the motors at about 30% and then turn the controller off. If it shuts off then it does, if not..... Then you would loose your quad in the event of lost signal.

Thanks for the reply. I like the HKTR6a a lot which you´ve suggested. The only problem with these is: because it´s from HK the shipping costs are the same as the price of the product itself (I'm from Europe). I'd rather buy the transmitter from Banggood where you aren't charged for shipping. I only need to find out if they offer a comparative transmitter. Although, thanks for your recommendations!

Those are made by FlySky, here it is on BG.

That said it is a very, very basic unit. You need an LCD screen (so you can program on the fly) and a few more switches, especially at least one 3way and some pots come in handy too..

This one is by far the most sophisticated in it's price range and you can also get PPM RXs for it cheaply. Throttle curves, DR/Expos, adjustable failsafe settings for all channels etc,

I'll go for the FlySky FS-i6 you've suggested. The reviews are good only I can't find any info about its range. Also, do I need anything else for this transmitter to make my quad fly? (The FS-IA6 receiver is included and I've got some AA-batteries of course.)

By the way, what's the advantage of having PPM?
