Fellas: I have a 450 Chinese quad, running open pilot cc3d board and trying to use a Futaba 6ex tx.
On the open pilot site, quad setup was a breeze. The Futaba 6ex is not working out. When I try and
Setup the 6ex, in open pilot, when it comes to setup the stick movements, the 6ex and open pilot screen don't matchup. Question is, does the 6ex have to be setup in heli mode in the tx. before going
to open pilot or just turn on the tx and follow the open pilot screen, which is not working out.
Has anyone used the Futaba 6ex with open pilot and if they have, can you help me through the
process. If not, I can purchase a Futaba 7c, which I know will work on open pilot for a cheap price.
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you Regards The Spudman

Best to always use plane/acro on your radio.

Know nothing about Futaba, but I can't understand why going to the 7C would change things. I'm assuming your RX outputs PWM?

Well if you want them to match you need to hook up the cables correctly. Getting a direct match to the CC3D cable can be a pain to get right. The CC3D, for channels 1, 2, 3, 4 uses TAER.

Futaba uses AETR (maybe some EATR.) So cable 1 in your case needs to go into 3 (T throttle) of your RX. Cable 2 needs to go into 1 ( A aileron) or maybe into 2. Google your RX to find out the order.
