This is the largest model I have printed since using the Creality Ender 3 a week ago. Also thre most time spent.
I am having issue printing the stand.
Picture shown is without the stand.

Superman is about 71/2 inches tall, consisting of 7 parts:

Head with upper torso plus upper cape ……. 9h 20min
Lower cape...…………………………………………...……9h 12min
Legs with lower torso...………………………………...6h 47min
Right arm...…………………………………………………...55min
Left arm...……………………………………………………..58min
Stand...………………………………………………………...3h 30min
Rod connecting the stand and the model…..47min

I failed to get the base (stand) printed.
So, I used another "round base" gcode file from another model > printed it > drilled a hole at the middle > hot glued the rod into the hole > voila, a Superman stand.

First time I am not eager to paint it.
It took so long to get printed, I don't want to ruin all the hard works by my hand painting.
Besides, Testor enamel paint is criminally expensive. A quarter ounce bottle runs in between $17-$20 CND. 1/4 ounce !
That large Superman cape could use up most of my bottle of red paint, if not all.

That's a beautiful print as is you should really check out xtc 3d from smoothon it's a clear coat that fills in the small lines on 3d prints and you can sand it a bit then paint on top to make it 110%. Either way awesome looking print.

Granted $30 still ain't super cheap but you don't need much to coat a model either so will probably last a while (who knows at the rate you're printing/painting at though it does help a lot with making the paint not run/bleed into the lines too though)

oof yah that does sound too pricey only $30 USD here is it really that much markup to get it to canada?

Yea. We pay for it in exchange for clean streets, little gun violence, courteous citizens, and oh yes ……. no "stable genius" idiots. HA HA HA.

Crazy that's an insane amount of tax to me... In general Chicago is clean and for the most part people are courteous (more people == more bad apples, and other social issues mostly from racism and how the city is structured). Just bonkers it's that much of a price gap between here and there, should be $40 based on currency conversion so it's more than doubled from taxes :|

So it can't just be sales tax that has to be some extra import tariffs.... but there aren't any (Bill Clinton/NAFTA)

So I still don't get it why is it more than double the price in USD???

It must have something to do with it being a resin being shipped internationally or something I can't figure out anything else that sucks though, see if there are any local arts and crafts type shops or local distributors of smooth-on products in general (they make tons of resins and silicone mixtures and epoxies for costume design and prototyping parts and other stuff).

Have heard other clear coats can work well too so maybe just search around for what might work but just adds a nice gloss and surface to paint for already nice looking prints.

..................So I still don't get it why is it more than double the price in USD???...……………….

It is because that particular product, for reason unknown, cannot be shipped to Canada, or probably cannot be shipped outside USA.

Not to Canada..jpg

So...…. Amazon.ca sellers can charge whatever the hell they feel like to.

P.S. It is not 15% tax anymore. It is 13%.
