2017 The Year of the Rooster and is well in China ....

As it happens I am a "Rooster" by birthdate - so I was up for 2017 being a good year. I recall on one thread, one of the guys replied to me saying "... if it was not for all your bad luck - you would have no luck at all".

Also, in my early days I was asking about a radio that does all I would want from it ..because I did not want to build up a collections......

I have a Devo 10 which - well that story is chronicled on my first few posts on here - I thought it was faulty - the fault was in my head and lack on knowledge actually! But ist sat for over a year looking all forlorn and sad. I purchased a TGY i10 from HobbyKing, an on-nine supplier most of us grow to dislike to some degree or another. Its a good radio and suits me - but during a setup - suddenly the throttle stick began to flop around akin to a aged and retired porn stud. I had the back off.... a tiny 9mm overall length spring had lost one of its end hoops ( is that the right name?).
I contact HobbyKing.... I have had less than a year - I checked my emails and it arrived a few days after I ordered from their Sydney store...BUT HK deem warranty starts the minute the order is received! Time in transit is .... within warranty liabilities" Now you can see why a lot of us really dislike HK. So there I am a cracking good DJI Nasa M Lite just installed and just needs a couple of Aux channels setting up on three way switch...no radio. I cannot get a spring anywhere.
I asked FlySky and this is their reply.... the spring is FREE but...

"i just check the FedEx shipping fees is $45 USD ,and the bank fees is $30 .So total amount is $75."

HK were better - they only want $32 for shipping.

Looking throughBangGood for anything that looks like it will do...( I got Taranis springs...too long) I find BG are doing the FSI6S at a good price and I took a liking to it a while ago - and - it will handle the RX I have which is about 10 FSi6A and a couple of TGY i10A - so I order it.
Then I think that's OK for a spare in teh future...but now??
Back to HK and check again.. no springs BUT the TGY i10 is on a reduced Chinese New Year offer.... what the hell - I ordered it!
5 days later the FS i6S arrived express post from BangGood, three days later I am advised a delivery from HK. Before it arrives I check out the FSi6S - and update the firmware. Its never worked since!
At first I thought it was just the adjust sticks function that locked up the menu... but
having set up the Aux channels for the Nasa m Lite - had it out and flown it.... brought back in and de-propped, took the lipo off to charge it and put another on to adjust a couple of settings.... its not bound anymore. ALL setting are lost every time I shut it down!
No worries - stick a claim in to BG and go to collect my new i10.
Open it up check it - put my own already charged battery in and ........ but whats this.... why is the bottom section of the capacitive display panel.... far brighter than the top! And why can I not adjust screen brightness....a week after creating video's for you tube for both BG and the FSi6S and HK and the i10 - my claim with HK is currently marked "proceed to settlement" - so I assume its a refund.
BG have not replied yet and my claim is marked as "in process".
At the same time I have 4 items I ordered off 3 different eBay sellers mid December 2016 and they are still in transit and will I "wait just 7 more days" - for the second time.

So for a guy NOT wanting a collection of radio's - unless and until a couple of stores decide to issue a refund and decide what I need to do with the debris.... I own,

1 Devo 10 as new nev er used ( offers ;))
2 TGY i10 - with sensors,battery and 10 chnl rx
1 TGY i5 thus is a 5 channel starter - yours for just $40 or less!
1 FSi6S as new used just once "in action"and has doubtful future.
Which seems to be the making of a collection!

Now the good news is my birthday wish list includes a Nasa M V2... and I know its ticked off!

Which leaves me with 2 Revolution FC and a NEO M8N GPS Module - which works OK - but I am too dim to tune it in as I want it... but then I do stand it next to my Phantom and its a hard act to follow!

Christmas brought me a Tarot 650 frame - now you may think I am mad - but I don't want it!
It just seems big and spidery and needs work and thinking - I just want to play!

So the year of the Rooster just needs a truck to run over it and bring in - WITH LUCK - a new one!

Let me guess your age, 24? 36? or 48? Haaaa...In China, if you are born in the year of Rooster, it is not means you will very lucky in this year, In fact, it is reverse. Chinese called this year is your "benmingnian", you will get much bad luck, so they will wear red clothes to fight with bad luck. After the "benmingnian", your life will get better and better.

Well I guess the bad luck is well and truly in force! Red is a good colour - Man United!

My TGY i10 TX bust a gimbal spring - well if you read the above post you know all about it.
HK have issued a refund due to the defective touch screen.

BangGood - who I have always praised - are prevaricating! First they relied that it was NOT a quality problem with the FS-i6S- it was firmware.
I replied that I apologize for updating the firmware and ....
"I did not know I should not do this - because it may cause problems - however as every buyer of the FSi6S has done this before - maybe FlySky should NOT provide firmware that can damage a TX - and because BG did not put any warning on the items page - I really don't care about silly statements - its not working and it should do.. and I dont care who, why or how its not working I only know I paid BG for a working radio. I will wait till you get a reply from FlySky - but I advise you - after 16 days they still have not replied my email about this. I will be pleased if it really is a firmware problem - because there is no other firmware available and FS must accept they are at fault and warn every buyer of this item - it can suddenly develop faults - which if their aircraft is in the air at the time - can be very dangerous". Please record that I state - this radio is not function as described on the item page and I purchased this radio becaue I need it - not to become an expensive ornament in my workshop, so I expect either a full functional replacement or a full refund".

I have no qualms they will not get around to a refund - IF - they cannot get a workaround from FlySky - its just tedious going through the delays to hope I will give up!

I did however find that BG sold spare gimbals for the FS-i6S - which are the same gimbals in just about everything the make - ordered - delivered in 14 days and cost under A$10 - it saved juggling with a tiny spring ( of which the old holds gimbal my "spares") and my i10 is back in action.

The HK i10 is waiting a refund and prepaid postage of collection to return it. I am only 70 mile or so away from their Aussie store and it only cost A$6.75 to deliver it. Typically a week later and no money back to PP yet!

And to make it worse - in Aussie we have been struck with an heatwave - as if it is not hot enough normally - but out flying in 35C - 40+C and in a few minutes the mores are getting a bit too hot - so unless one is realy gfanatical and up before dawn to get as much of the cool off overnight.... its workshop time again!

Add to that my latest obsession - I mean hobby -I am waiting for a 3D Printer..... my wife thinks is to make her stuff for her craft room!
