2-blade vs 3-blade

I just notice from Amazon site that offers both 2-bladse propellers and 3-blade propellers for the same quad as "spare parts".
Which is more efficient for flying ? 2-blade or 3-blade ?
Does 3-blade propellers require more energy to rotate and therefore use up the battery quicker ?

You also get a bit more lift so can stop descent or make harder turns with three blade props from what I gather. Haven't done side by side myself except when I was learning basics might give it a shot next time I'm ordering props (luckily they last more than one flight most of the time now :) )
 
3 blades will give you more power but will use batteries faster and put strain on your motors ....... if the designers gave it 2 blades .. why change?
