In an FPV Discord thread, some cat named Brundle mentioned Skokie, IL.
I spoke up and said I went to Northwestern University, which is 5 miles away in Evanston, IL, and then asked what was the last grade completed of everyone there.
He started coming at me with an unrelenting flurry of foul expletives (the "C" word repetively, to name one), I assume because he stated the question was some kind of attack on his boy (friend?) bwnz (also in the thread).
He kept challenging me to a free style sim competion and a flyoff and to show what I got ...
...and he could basically... freaking bury me.

While the world was infatuated with GTA IV & GTA V, Choppergirl went a different direction and fell in love with an overlooked and neglected but requiring great skill very tricky to fly horse in a maligned game. Turning 100,000 FPS shooter grunts with guns players into futurist jumpjet pilots during it's heyday, AirWar popularized VTOL flight straight out of nowhere, and the precariously riding on a cushion of air, and laid the primordial foundation for the FPV hobby, VTOL aerobatics, and interest therein.
When GameSpy login server went bankrupt in 2014 and the party was over, Nintendo controllers were hacked, balsa wood was duct taped, RC airplane transmitters and receivers were expropriated, kludges were passionately hacked up by amateur programmers, and the rest is history. After beating up on boys for 4 years on my servers, I went blind, and didn't get to continue to participate... instead, becoming... a grandmother forgotten and maligned like Malificent ... the Dark Horse of Air War.
Of course these things are being used to kill people in Ukraine... they always were... weapons of war. They were birthed in my Mad Max Tina Turner thunderdome after all... a fair chess aerial combat poetry of debris raining down in the sky.
