Just test flew my new quad, 2 seconds of flight as was inside, but finally got all the channels sorted.

for those interested my parts list were:-

  • QAV copy type carbon frame
  • EMAX 1806 motors
  • mystery 12a ESC
  • KK2 mini board
  • 1500 lipo
and
  • FS R6 receiver that came with:-
  • FS T6 transmitter

still to do:-

  • solder the ESC wires to the motors, not done yet due to checking the spin of motors
  • add the red rear LED boards, not sure on one or 2 yet
  • add white pair of front headlights (cree)
  • Tidy the wiring
And maybe next some FPV - not sure if and what just yet.

Heres a pic:-

Thanks

Hi mate and welcome nice quad for first build , 1 question why are the power leads so long cant you put battery other way round shorten lead ( less weight ) and less resistance in the wire , this is important if going FPV later , if it was me I would put ziptie across the frame spacers just behind the FCB and pop the battery inside the frame this will balance the quad better when the FPV system is fitted , she looks fast mate good job

Since that pic I have shortened the motor and battery wires. Still more to do. I have also added an red led bar to the rear.

Headlight is still on a slow boat from China.
I will play with battery placement. Thx for suggestion.

Hi mate she look really good ,Why I say get battery in side is wind resistance being stuck on top and in a crash the battery can get so badly damaged they catch on fire and trust me you wont get near the quad if that happens

Cool pyrotechnics

It's in this position for testing.

I just gave it a 2nd flight, broke 3 props and found I need to do the esc calibration. I was the best at cartwheeling through the mud
