I have 2 syma x8g drones and when I go to try binding them to the controller the lights blink very fast and dem I want to try to sell them and get one good working drone but I would like to make sure this is just a battery issue first, I plug my battery’s into them both and they both kept blinking, on battery almost looks inflated but not really

Sorry for my

Not familiar with the syma x8 but in general using a multimeter to check the voltage and/or having a hobby charger that shows the voltage and how much current being pushed into the battery are ways to check a battery health. The voltage should get to 4.2V per cell when fully charged (3.0 V fully empty) and typically when discharging will quickly drop to around 3.8-4.0V range and should be around 3.8V for majority of the time it's being drained. If the quads use betaflight firmware then the FC will typically have a USB port can connect with computer and diagnose/fix other issues with the betaflight configurator app/tool, for proprietary FCs/firmware there isn't really any way to know or change what's happening on the flight controller.

RE : when I go to try binding them to the controller the lights blink very fast
Questions :
1. Did you follow the user manual on How to Bind Controller with the Drone ?
2. Whose lights blinking very fast? The X8G lights?
If yes, then I think it is normal. Try move your controller's LEFT stick Up and then Down once. See if the lights turn stable.
If not, go back to your user manual.

RE : on battery almost looks inflated but not really
I am assuming that you have been using those 2 batteries for quite sometime now. Yes?
Since you had considered the batteries as possible culprit, why don't you get 2 brand new ones and try them on?

Not knowing which country you are residing, you can buy 7.4V 2000mah lithium batteries (pack of 2) for Syma X8G from Amazon.com for $35.99 US.
