My EACHINE X12

I bought this unit via Gearbest based on the many positive reviews on Youtube. Right from the start, I was having trouble with the compass calibration. Every once in a while, I would get as "success" but it was among many "calibration failure" messages. When there was success, a good looking launch was attained but it was short lived with the drone taking on its own life and going in unpredictable directions. Even releasing the sticks, the drone did not assume the hover mode that it was supposed to have done. This ultimately led to a few crashes with only minimal damage - a split propeller for instance. At least 9 satellites were connected at the time And I am nowhere near any metal objects or sources RF interference. I have tried the Enjoy-Fly app with similar results. No help received from the supplier or c-fly (manufacturer).
I do not know what to do next other than hanging the unit on my wall of shame and buying a mini SE. anyone here have any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Hi even if you get a GPS lock you can loose it my phantom would get GPS lock but if I moved it 2 feet I lose it , all I can say is it you do the compass dance and if you don't get full GPS lock with all satellite needed try a different location

Thank you for the reply.
I seem to be getting only 8 or 9 satellites. How many would be "safe"? I suppose it would depend upon location and any surrounding obstacles. Have tried two locations separated by about 3-1/2 to 4 miles, and did the compas dance so many tims I am dizzy. Same results.

I dont use GPS much as I fly a lot of big helicopters and they don't have GPS does your drone have intelligent mode if it does how well does it fly in that mode

I just joined a group in Jolly old England called the Royal Ascot. Talk about a straight-laced snobby group. I figured I could have some fun being the only Yank in membership.

Duh, ain't a quadcopter a helicopter? Last time I looked it was.

IMO if we referred to these aircraft simply as "helicopters", then how on earth would we ever know how many propellers each had? ‍

Is it possible that this is just faulty? I've had several cheap drones but none acted like yours. It sounds unusable.
