SG906 Pro2

This aircraft is an upgrade from the SG906 Pro, it has a 3 axis gimbal, a 4k camera and a 7.4V/3400mah battery for 25+ minutes flying time.
I am really impressed with this economy priced drone, however I have trouble getting the remote control to connect. I have had it connect sometimes but not consistently.
Most of the time I have to fly it with the HFun Pro app on my android phone. I much prefer to fly with the controller and joy sticks.

I have tried starting the drone first and starting the remote first but neither way gives me a consistent connection.
The instruction manual says to make sure the batteries are good, I have installed fresh ones and have checked the voltage on them, they are good.

Has anyone else experienced this?
Can anyone offer any solutions?

Thanks in advance,
Phil

Can you pop the top and give us a pic of the electronics? Also figure out what motors it has and what tx/rx protocol it has. (we already know it is 5G wifi, that's the camera and vtx.)

I too have this problem .....did you ever find out what was wrong

Yes, I solved this problem.

Unfortunately I didn't take any pictures but the fix is quite simple.
What happens is the arms that you swing out on the control to mount your phone, move the antenna wire inside the control. Over a short time the wire connection becomes unstable resulting in no connection of the radio signals.

I opened up the hand control by removing the small Philips screws in the back and carefully swing the two halves of the control box open, basically unfold them so the wires don't get pulled. You will instantly see the antenna wire and where it is close to the hinge of the arm I'm talking about.

You might get away with just re-positioning the wire and tape it down so the hinge doesn't move the wire any more.
Test your Drone to control connection before you re-assemble it. If it works great. You can re-assemble the control and you are done. If not, you need to find where the wire connection is broken and fix it by soldering the broken connection. That takes a bit more work and requires some diagnostic and soldering skills to find and fix the break in the wire.

Hope this helps,
Phil

Guys, Just got mine, given the YT vids I've seen and in this forum. I'm thinking I'll just pick up a couple of male SMA with bare wire ends and mount them, replace the factory wires, then get a couple of compatible SMA antennas. If anyone has any advise or recommended options if love to hear them!
Thanks guys,

hi guys
new to this
i have a question for you regarding the sg906 pro 2
it flys fine and records to my phone but i cannot get the dame thing
to record to the sd card has any one got any idea's it is driving me crazy
any help would be much appreciated

jim

I have the same problem. I read somewhere that it will only write to an older (Slower) 16Gb sd card.
I have one and I put it in but still doesn't write to the sd card.

OK guys I've got the answer having just completed the mod , first of all just to clear it up , there is only one eariel , a small 1/4 wave dipole placed lying down on its side at the front of controler when in your hand ......what is happening ?
Well it turns out , leading from the 1/4 wave dipole is a length of pigtail coax, just like you would have on an SMA connector ....the end of that coax has been striped to bare the centre wire and then the shielding .....just like when you prepare TV coax .....and with it being so small its a bitch to do .....so don't even think about using a Stanley knife .....if you have your soldering iron handy , melt the outer cover off

Part 1 ........part 2 to follow

Hi, I had the identical problem, this is how i solved it, the memory card I had in my draw was just a standard stock one in as much the description on the packet said ideal for saving your photos, documents etc so i thought Mmmmm I went and spent a few euros extra and bought a Sandisk Ultra 32gb , packet said excellent for HD video recording etc, this solved my problem.

Hi, did your idea fix the problem, i have the same problem, but i noticed that this happened when i fly my SG906 Pro to its extreme range, if I held the drone at the fixed point where i lost the signal it then returned to full but as soon as I started flying again immediately the signal would drop, however once I returned the drone to within 400m distance all was well, am thinking batteries in the drone controller may have to be Hi power, so even thou batteries show full charge am going to replace them. Further I will make a hole in the controller, pass the aerial thru it and attach it to a support to see what happens.

What i did was , if you open the remote , you'll find the ariel connection in the centre . And there just so happens to be a flat spot on the underneath front of the controller . there i fitted an sma connector and screwed a 5db 2.4g ariel in works great now ....all the best ....jim

Pull both controllers down and into the inside corners , but how you gonna manage that with the drone in your hand is beyond me ......might be easier to turn the controller off

Just keep holding down the joy stick for landing and with the other hand just grabe it from the bottom. In a couple of seconds the motor stop :-)
