Trying to decide 250 or 450? And plan my first build!

Hello,
I have had many many RC cars and trucks and a few boats but I'm new to flying.

Right now I just have the syma x5c-1 and it will be OK for a while until I get good at flying it. (I am quadriplegic so it's a little harder) sometime in the near future I want to build a nice quad to use for video and also FPV. I'm trying to decide whether I want to build a 250 or a 450 sized quad.

I kind of like the portability of the 250 but I'm thinking that the 450 would be more stable and easier to fly... Is that correct?

I have a pretty good understanding of the motors and ESC'S and what I need for each build but the one thing I don't know anything about is the FCB! I've seen videos of quadcopters like the DJI phantom that have GPS with the return to home feature... I really like that! I won't be racing or doing any acrobatics but I would like to have some decent maneuverability along with excellent stability and the GPS features such as return to home and altitude hold.

I saw this FCB at hobbyking.com has anyone used this? I saw a video that stated that the GPS is only 2% accurate... That's not very good! Any other FCB's that you would recommend?

I welcome any suggestions on why I should build either size!

Thank you all in advance!

Hi 450 is a good starter size it is as stable as you want it to be, the best is the naza M with gps , not cheap but is well proven its the same fitted in the phantom watch this it will show you how well it can do

What an awesome feature! Will the naza M fit into a 250 frame? I'm definitely leaning towards the 450 because of its stability but maybe later when I get better I'll want to build a 250 class quad for the maneuverability. Where would you recommend I buy the naza M FCB? When I was looking at components for a 250 class quad I liked what I saw at banggood.com (I think that's correct). Like the Simonk ESC'S and the 1804 and 1806 brushless motors. Which 450 frame would you recommend? Initially I was planning a 250 build, I was just going to buy the FPV250 from hobbyking. It's going to be awhile before I have the money to do this build, I just want to make sure I plan it correctly! I really appreciate all of your advice!

Hi my friend why dont you buy from hobby king it will save you loads of money ,and yes go 450 to start will be better to fly ,the naza m will fit any frame

Awesome... Looks like a fun build! I wish I could do it myself! I enjoyed the soldering, the building and tinkering as much as driving the RC's that I built. I guess I shouldn't complain, I'm fortunate that I have enough arm movement and the knowledge to make my transmitter work for me so I'm able to drive and fly my RC's! Thanks again for all your help! Time to start saving some money!
