Drone max height

Question....my drone maxes out at 400 feet as i assume most do. But lets say im on a 200' cliff and fly it over the edge of a 400' drop? Will it maintain a 600' flying height or will it plummet to match a "new" 400' height?

What AC do you have? A DJI??

Curious if DJI has implemented a HARD Ceiling on newer quads? My old Phantom 3 has a maximum altitude setting. I can change it to 401 feet or 501 :p

As to your question. Not sure. In Central South Carolina the tallest hills are highway overpasses hahaha. I am sure you will get a real answer.

Have Fun

And yeah its maxed at 400 feet in the settings
Pretty sure it will go based on your take off position being "0ft" and then use barometric pressure sensor and or GPS to track the relative altitude changes from there. So my money is on it maintains altitude after going over the cliff... I would still test this theory on a relatively small cliff.
