Can you fly a drone in central park?

Looking to drive to new York City next month and propose to my girlfriend. Can find a clear answer online. But wanted to secretly whip out my drone and have it hovering to capture the proposal....is this possible? And if not do you think it can be done by permit? And have maybe a local professional do it for me instead?

Good luck with the proposal! Regarding flying downtown I know in Chicago it's officially not allowed but also know lots of people who have "gotten away with it" police have even asked to fly rather than kick people out of a park. I imagine Central Park being a crazy place full of people it would be more locked down compared with random parks in Chicago, my guess is you'd be better off hiring a photographer to just setup in a building near where you plan to propose and get "aerial" shots that way just to be safe.

^^ more discussion about it here maybe get a Casey neistat mask :D

Most anything is illegal in NYC.

It is illegal to congregate in public with two or more people while each wearing a mask or any face covering which disguises your identity.

Adultery is still a crime.

A fine of $25 can be levied for flirting.

Owning a ferret illegal.

It is illegal for three or more people to share an apartment in New York unless they share blood or a name

it’s against the law for a woman to be on the street wearing “body hugging clothing.”

Grilling with charcoal on the roof.

Ohh and to get back on point.

Congratulations and good luck. Hopefully you will not live in NYC
