FIFISH V6 has a 300ft tether, at that distance its hard to see which way the ROV is facing even with lights on in choppy waters. But with the help of a drone in the air they can tell you which way to face to get back in the most direct path and save battery time for more dives. Following your tether back is another option but its in a half circle behind you following the waves and not the most direct path after 100 ft is spooled out.

Made a fun video of how we got back ROV back quickly after it surfaced.

Plenty of aerial shots in this one and shot of the quad for under water plus fpv so seems close enough. Anyway cool stuff to see, not planning to get into it but don't mind the clips coming through here especially when using quads to film.
 
You have done it again Captain Nemo love the combination videos you do keep them coming love the fishy looking up at the mavic be good to find a interesting ship wreck

Nice footage didn't realize those things had huge tethers lol that explains how they work because I don't think 5.8ghz travels through water very well lol.
