I think the elephants standing on the cosmic turtle is a tad more realistic than the earth just sitting right on the turtle's shell :D

Oh, and I wasn't mocking anyone in particular - just riffing off Moz. I originally heard the elephants and turtle story from Discworld and later learned it was from Hindu mythology. Your comment got me googling - interesting that the Native Americans and Chinese also have similar mythology. Makes you wonder if there was a lot more world traveling going on in the early days or if a giant turtle supporting our planet was an obvious explanation in our low-tech history.
