Suggestion Drone Project

Hello Everyone,

I am doing a Project for my university in which I need to develop an autonomous drone system for inspection and diagnosis of technical faults in base stations.

The information about the system state is encoded in a flashing led attached to the cellular tower.

The drone potentially should reach the flashing light and record for a certain time (1 or 2 min).

Another requirement is that the drone dimension should be very small, let´s say the dimension of a selfie drone.

It should be programmable in some way, in the sense it should run object detection and object recognition algorithms on it.

My question is, what drone can be suited for this project? If you need any further information do not hesitate to ask.

We have many knowledgeable people on this site. Jackson and Mozquito come to mind as being of those sorts. I, personally, am as dumb as dirt on the electronics of drones.
 
Except it's not autonomous and I don't know how open it is for programmability. Depending on the requirements, using an autopilot program with it might count.

Hey Filippo..........I kinda got the idea that "I need to develop" means you have to build it yourself?!?! If that is the case then you could build something fairly inexpensive. It might be a bit tight, but you could probably do it on a 250mm frame. You would need a Flight Controller with a barometer built-in. It would need to have support for a compass/GPS add on module. Programming would be done with iNav.

What would be the total flight time?? And would it be required to perform other tasks?
