FIXED: SD Error: Expected ver: 2.2V001*

It turned out the issue was how I was installing the files.

I unzipped the sdcard-taranis-x7-2.2V0013 file which created a folder of the same name, which contained the needed files. Where I went wrong was taking the unzipped folder and put it in the tx, instead of taking the files INSIDE that folder and putting those into the tx. Once I did that, the error stopped and everything connected to the SD worked.

Taranis Q X7
Firmware: opentx-x7-lua-en-2.2.1
SD Contents: sdcard-taranis-x7-2.2V0013

Error: Expected ver: 2.2V0013

I have formatted, redownloaded, extracted, followed the steps repeatedly.

I have also noticed that I can enter the SD card in the TX but when I have tried to save a model built from Companion, it doesn't save it.I tried restoring the model stored in the SD and it says no models on SD.

Help!

I remember watching Project Blue Falcon videos on this (not sure if it was the one with the answer), but have a look to make sure you're not missing something.

At worst, you may learn a useful tidbit and hopefully someone smart hops in the thread with a good answer. I've got to run out for awhile, but will look through browser history later to see if it jogs my memory if you haven't sorted it out by then.

Thank you, I'll check it out. I got it running on Freerider, so I'm destressing.

World of difference in flight! Managed to do a lap hitting all the gates!

I came across a comment in a Joshua Bardwell video where a viewer said he edited the version file, but didn't say how. I looked at the file and the version matched.

Found a potential fix. There was talk on another forum about junk files hidden in the SD card for Mac. Potential issue with mine since I only did quick formats. Time to do a full format and try again.

I am getting quite good at getting around this tx.

Yeah, I did a full format, but mine didn't come with an SD card so I just grabbed one out of my camera bag.
I poked around and still don't recall exactly what fixed mine. As Renov8r, mentioned, the error didn't seem to affect me, but my OCD "forced me to fix it". LOL.

And yes, I learned quite a lot about the TX by sorting out issues like that.

Ok, got a better result.

Got a new so card, save result. I installed v2.20010 and whoa! Amber said hello! - still get the error but I get sounds and they all work!

So it wasn't me.
