Newbie, any BLheli esc’s can communicate with BLheli suite program? I think it’s obvious but just want to make sure….lol

Yep but it easier to use the configuration tool from chrome also. Still got to power the esc's though same as suite.

I am using a CC3D board. After downloaded Blheli suite, and using USB connection from CC3D control board to Blheli suite, nothing is happening. Removed all the props and power up with battery, nothing is happening. The “CONNECT” button in Blheli suite is gray out. Is this means my esc’s are not compatible with Blheli?

I will check the esc’s when I go home from work. CC3D board is setup with Libro…. I am not familiar with beta/clean flight. So… do I need to have my CC3D firmware using betaflight / cleanflight before attempt to use Blheli suite?

I am new to quad so sorry about newbie questions. The reason I wanted to change settings on my quad is to fly 3D. I fly 3D heli….

i understand overall concept on how to setup 3d on quad. first to make sure esc’s are bidirectional setup using Blheli suite. Then go to cleanflight to reconfig settings to 3D flight. But it is not easy if u r technically blind about quad or drone….haha.

The cc3d may not have blheli passthrough. I just searched. It does not with librepilot. It said to fcb change to cleanflight. & something mentioned if the sequence for the motor pins are wrong it was 3421 instead of 1234 in betaflight & maybe the same for clean flight.
So download cleanflight off chrome.
You can flash the esc's another way.
Ardluino or FTDI chip.
Providing all your esc's where from the same batch. You could use a servo tester to esc but it would mean desoldering all the wires off the pdb to do it that way if you had one of them 3.

Then just calibrate them as normal. But that's all you can do.
When you buy new esc's they have to be initiated sort of. Throttle calibration.

Correct, CC3D doesn't have passthrough but you can still calibrate BLHeli ESCs (Well you really have to) using an Arduino Uno. No exactly the simplest of processes if you're not tech savvy, but here's a video explain the process. You're probably better off just getting a new F4 flight controller

Really??... wow….thank you for all your help and info’s.

Crashed my quad yesterday, and took about 2 hrs trying to correct the problem. I had to go back to Libro config to make sure my quad is in flying condition. And everything is resolved and back to normal.

Very excited to know that esc’s are BLHeli compatible. I watched few video’s on youtube how to download beta/clear flight firmware onto CC3D so shouldn’t be a problem. Once I downloaded, then, Blheli suite program should pick up the esc’s from CC3D board, so I can configure to bidirectional mode.

If not,….then, time to get a new control board. Naza32 is next step up fairly cheap on ebay but that is also outdated. RENOV8R recommended “F4 Flight controller”, so I typed in google, and many type with different brand, no clue….haha…

LHS called RC DEPOT hobbies in Westminster is 20 min from my house. They have own website. I can just go there after work to pick up the board, if u can tell me which one to buy. I am not into FPV stuff so no need to buy fancy one….haha…

Again, thank you in advance.

If I remember correctly (I am at work), only tx receiver and esc’s / battery connectors are plugged onto pins on board. i haven’t solder in decades, and don’t have soldering equipment…..i would like to avoid if possible. Any other board I can just directly plug into?....

I understand that soldering process is must if I getting into drones or quads. But at this time, thinking plug and play just the way this quad is setup.

This is used I bought. Previous owner soldered the esc’s onto pcb board and tucked nicely into bottom frame and covered by another frame. So the heli looks cleaned and won’t see the esc’s unless u really look into it.

005.JPG With quads becoming smaller and builds tighter, boards just come with header pins in the package but not soldered on as there are sooooo many options as to how all your peripherals are to be connected. If you want plug & play for now, the only thing I can think of is maybe the owner of the hobby shop you're buying your stuff from can wire it up for you. Keep in mind though that if you want to get serious about this hobby, you need to learn how to solder (it's not that hard) and builds are much neater

can u do that? U r using a battery as landing skid ….. lol….clever. can u land safely without danger of tilting to one side?

Seriously, urs look really nice. Man,,, mine looks completely outdated.

More questions, looks like 4s battery. How long is flight time? I am flying with 3S 11.1v 2200mah and I get around 6 min flight time.
