Little Lost Noob

Bumbling Noob
Hi Everyone! I am pretty new to drone racing as well as drones in general but really enjoying it!

I just bought an Eachine 250 Racer that had no receiver. I purchased a Radiolink R6DS receiver, thinking that it would work with my Radiolink AT9.

I installed the receiver and flashed the latest firmware for SP Racing F3 FC. The FC is actually a modified NAZE 32 F3 called SP Racing Acro. Now when I power the drone up, there is no response, it does not beep at all and the rotors don't wiggle, only 2 lights, the blue one on the flight controller and the purple one on the receiver. I set it up for PPM and also tried sBus. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance!

Hi check the modulation of the transmitter this has to be set to Sbus or ppm
Hey there and thank you for your reply. I can't find how to check the modulation. However it says in the product description that it works on both PPM and sBus simultaneously.
Sorry I'm so completely dumb at this but I have been scouring the web for 2 weeks, trying to figure it out but there is just not really much information out there as far as I can find.

... Make sure you're plugged into the pins for channel one with the cable from the flight controller ... Power on the transmitter and set it to the correct model slot, turn on receiver and hold down the small button on the side until it flashes then let go of it ... in a moment the receiver should bind to the transmitter ... Turn off receiver ... Turn off transmitter .... That should do it ;)

To change modes (Don't do this, you're already on SBUS) you'd quickly tap the button twice to switch between PWM and SBUS/PPM, Red LED indicates it's set for PWM while Blue/Purple indicates SBUS mode :)

I followed the instructions exactly as was suggested but still got nothing. Shouldn't it go through the little startup sequence, where it beeps and the rotors jiggle when I plug in the battery? Here is the way that I have it wired.IMG_2450.JPG

... Hmmmm, looks good to me ... And the white wire is at the TOP position of the plug right ? (hard to tell from this pic) ... I'm guessing the two just aren't binding properly ... Try binding it like this: Unplug the quad, hold the receiver's button down, then plug in the quad while still holding down the button until it's flashing, then you can let go of it ... Then turn on the transmitter and it should bind

Your AT9 is set up properly and connected, so it certainly appears that your receiver's just not set up properly in the software. Are you using Cleanflight or Betaflight?
I'm using cleanflight and it will not connect.

It says No response from the bootloader, programming: FAILED

Edit: I also tried shorting out the boot pads and no luck there either. Could my FC just be wrecked?

... No. I don't think it's bound, if it were there would be a little green lock appearing on the radio's display and there is none (at least not in the pic)

Well, you need to connect to Cleanflight to program your FC to recognize sBus as it's defaulted to Spektrum 1024 or 2048. Have you installed the correct drivers? There's a link to them on the Cleanflight main screen. And make sure you're using a correct USB cable. I know I for one have wondered why I couldn't connect then realized that I was using a charging cable instead of a data transfer USB

Hi if your running Sbus the main cable should be in position 2 on the r6ds
Hey there. I tried that as well and nothing. I'm starting to think it might be the flight controller. Just took it out and going to see if Hobbytown can check it out for me and see if it's working.

I'm guessing it's not your board. If you haven't been in Cleanflight yet, your UART port 2 wouldn't be set to SerialRX. Also wouldn't be set in configuration or sBus selected in the receiver tab.

I did all those steps and it still did not work.

I was able to connect and installed some firmware for SP Racing f3. That didn't work, so i tried Libre pilot. I tried to flash but got an error and was not able to use the wizard. Could I have scrambled it by using different firmware progs? I can not connect to either. I shorted the boot pads and still no luck.

I think your FC is probably "bricked" ... I don't know what Libre Pilot is, but for your FC you definitely want to use Clean Flight !
Also, that's not the SP Racing F3 FC that I'm aware of (probably a Chinese knockoff) but it shouldn't matter too much, as that's mostly
just a matter of component/connections placement anyway.

Before we fiddle any longer with the RX and/or connections we need to be sure the FC is ok and Cleanflight will confirm that.
Follow this video and try reflashing it and then confirm that the FC is ok (no errors, etc) otherwise trouble shooting everything else is pointless

You can't "flash" Libre Pilot as it's a software GCU for CC3D and Revolution boards. Your SP F3 uses Cleanflight/Betaflight, you need to follow the advise that the Gyro Doctor gave you. A word of advise: whenever you're going to try something new or you're not familiar with, do a Youtube search first for some direction. You'll save yourself a ton of time.
