So I'm new to quad copters and I need to purchase the motors but most of the motors I've looked at do not say how much thrust they will produce my quad will be able to have 10 inch props and I need about 3 pounds of thrust for each motor how do I find out how much thrust and motor produces

I don't reasonably see you getting 3 pounds of thrust from and motor running 9'' props without risking destroying the prop from the speeds and force, even with CF.

Are you trying to lift 12 pounds or what? I have a quad that produced barely over 3 pounds of thrust with 4 9''x4.7'' props at 3S 1240kv.

ya im new to this i did so more research and im thinking 11x 4.7 props on this http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/...Brushless_Quadcopter_Motor_US_Warehouse_.html the quad will have a weight of around 3.5 pounds not including the camera and gimbl + about 70% to keep it in the air with a little wind
here is a thrust test for the motor ill run with an 4s batt
1.8kg thrust sure its over kill but y not
