Some general design questions for a second quadcopter

Hello
I'm trying to make a quad but I'm just starting to get into this as a hobby and the more research I do the more daunting of a task this all becomes. From selecting ESCs that work with motors, and motors that have enough thrust to lift all the junk that needs to be on a quad. I'm getting very confused.

So my questions are...
First: Is there any easy way to get started choosing electronics apart from buying a ready to fly kit or going off of other peoples suggestions?
Second: How should I begin choosing. Is it based on weight or should I be designing based off of a certain size prop?
Third: My ultimate goal is to make a quad that has a 3 cell battery but I'm currently designing it to be a 450 size is this possible? Any suggestions on motors and ESCs?

Thanks a lot for looking at this and any help is greatly appreciated!
Sorry if this isn't formatted right or anything.

Great app. Just punched in the parts for my build and came up with 5X thrust to weight and 21 minutes mixed flight time. Kind of surprised, I thought 10 minutes max
