Syma x13 motor issue...

I just bought this quadcopter last week. It's the first one I've ever had and I love it. I expected the time would come that I would have to repair it though...

There was no spectacular crash. It just stopped working. I just turned it on, started flying it. One minute into enjoyment, it started falling down after only about 3 seconds in the air. It flew, but just a few seconds at a time. Then after doing that about ten times, it stopped flying altogether. I discovered that one of the motors is not working anymore. I tore it down, I have it disassembled. The faulty motor appears to be hooked up to the board as well as the other three.

Is it a bad motor, or a bad board? Why did this happen, and how easy will it be to fix?? Should I buy a different quad? I love the way this flies. I want to fix it.

Any information would be much appreciated.

That's a good idea. Very economical.

How often should I expect this to happen, and what can I do to prevent it? I never crashed it too hard, but it did end up upside down with the propellers grinding against the carpet more times than I can count.

Could have been a defective motor as it should last longer than it did.
