Nihui U807 on the way.

Toy Quad Builder
Just pulled the trigger on this from the banggood USA warehouse using a coupon code for $36 and change shipped...No 30 day wait and delivered within a maximum of 7 days.

Reviews of this quad are very good to say the least and im looking forward to experiencing the fun..One thing im looking forward to finding out is, the enormous range this model is claimed to have at 150m or better and a sporty yet very stable flight characteristic...Should this all prove to be true ,the flight board should make for a great hybrid candidate.

I will be doing all i can to "improve" anything possible with this model and will post any changes or upgrades as i go along.

Stay tuned for more to come.

I have one and ordered another when I saw them for $29.99. It flies great one of my favorites. As far range I can't say it gets to small for me to see before it gets out of range. I use my Devo 10 for a Tx.

I saw this and ordered one immediately! So with your Devo 10 will it connect directly to the U807 or did you have to install a compatible reciever?

My Devo 10 has been flashed with Deviation and I added the nrf24l01 & a7105 modules via a multi module board. So with those modification I can fly all the toy quads that I currently have.

You can read more about Deviation @ WWW.deviationtx.com

Yay, i got email confirmation tonight at work that the quad was shipped...Hopefully by middle of next week ill have it.

Ive already determined what upgrades ill be doing to this quad and because of one upgrade in particular, i wont be flying the quad at all untill the mod is performed...I'll explain once i have everything ready.

Been flying mine as it came out of the box other than the Devo 10. Took it out today and it would barley lift off then it wouldn't lift off at all. Appears I have worn out the motors they don't spin free like when it was new. Plus one of the pinion gears is missing a tooth. Guess it's time for an overhaul. Prime time to install bearings. I think they are 6x3x2.

Be interested to hear what you have planned for yours.

Antenna? I'll be watching this thread to see what everybody does. Looks like it'll be fairly easy to install a higher capacity battery.

No antenna or range mods...Its confirmed a solid 150m which is way farther than you could see it by eye being its size.

Yea..thats the size i heard that works on it...i cant confirm it yet but the stock shafts are supposedly 2.95mm dia and the inner race of the bearing (and stock bushing) is 3.00mm...So, thats a bit of play there.

If that is in fact the case the the oil lite bushings would be a better option. If the shaft is turning onsite the inter race the bearing isn't going to do much.

Guess I need to take mine apart and get the mic out.

Let me know what you get measurement wise...one of the mods i have planned will hopefully address that issue..Time will tell.

Tracking shows my U807 is on its last stop before it moves on to my town...Hopefully today or tomorrow i should have it. :)

I've heard that altough this is a quick quad, lift is a little lacking compared to others in the same class. Wondering if those heavy steel shafts are part of the reason. I've got a buddy who's a machinist, maybe get him to whip me off a set from titanium.

My U807 is here but ,it figures both PO clerks are at lunch so, i have to go back in 30 minutes to get the U807...You would think they would alternate lunch so the PO doesnt have to be closed for an hour. o_O

The 3x6x3 bearings i ordered are here also.

Sounds expensive..haha

Joy!...i have the u807 in my posession....I just pulled a motor shaft out and can confirm they are not steel but ,maybe an aluminum alloy...A magnet would not stick to the shaft.

Ill be starting my build thread on this tonight or tomorrow.

Im having some problems sourcing some things i need to do what i wanted..haha.

I can find them but everything is sold in bulk and way more than i wanted to spend to do the one thing i was wanting to do...Im really tempted to do it anyways...hahaha, Sigh.

I dont think id have a problem selling an upgrade "kit" for other U807 owners...Time will tell.
