SYMA X5C-1 coming soon.

I filed my income tax today and will be using some of the return for a new quad...I cant think of a better one to get than the X5C-1 ..The rest of the money is going to some car audio upgrades..haha.

I plan to do a full review and a full modification thread..Im not one to leave well enough alone and will go through great extents to find all i can from this quad.

This one should be fun.

Yea, its time for a little bigger quad in the stable...then maybe the X8C next...from there goes a diy build of some sorts.

I strongly recommend the Syma X8 models...great range and performance...
and only roughly 25 bucks more than the X5 models...but WAY more copter....
I own both..and should have gotten two X8's....
so good I got my Dad one as a trainer for his DJI Phantom III

Got a Nihui U807 it is fun to fly and I agree it would make a good starter quad. In facts I just ordered another one.

Thats on my list and thats a killer price...i found gearbest has them in the usa warehouse for $38.00 with no camera...i might get one of those also..i have about $200 to spend on my collection....the other $700 is going for a stereo system in my ford ranger..haha.

I bought the 1st one for $43 & when I saw it for $29 I ordered a 2nd one. ABNF was $25 so the $29 was a no brainer. Neither has a camera. The 1st one took about 9 days from China.

I did some thinking and im still getting the X5C-1 but ill be picking up a Nihui U807 AND a Yizhan X6 first. Both are sitting in my cart and waiting for uncle sam to make the direct deposit into my bank before i check out....Getting both from the Banggood USA warehouse in NY...With a 6% off coupon its coming out to $95 and change for both..Both are RTF with no cameras.

I really like my U807 it became one of my favorite quads, my Tarantula X6 not so much. Guess I got a bad one as others love theirs. Never could get mine to fly reliably it had a mind of it's own. It's now in the process of morphing into a Franken xxxxxxx

Sorry to hear about your X6...they are generally a good quad and one recommended.....What sort of frankenX are you planning for it?

I took the motors and motor mounts and mounted them on the end of a v262/666 frame. I also used the leds from the Tarantula. I'm waiting for the v666 control board to put in it. I also have a v262 so it will be interesting to see if they fly different. The biggest difference is going to be the props.

The v262 is fun to fly once you get use to the slow yaw. I still have the foam on the v262 so it's like flying a giant Frisbee.

Sounds good...what do you mean by the x6 board had a mind of its own?..i mean i know the round about meaning but, was it something specific?

It tried to fly away several times, I don't mean the normal where your flying high and the wind blows it out of range. It was within 30' of me and I would loose a control, mostly the elevator but sometimes the aliron or rudder. Sometimes I could fight with the controls I had to recover and other times I would have to cut the throttle to save it. This happened with both the stock tx & the Wltoys one so it led me to believe it was the FC. Other times it would get real unstable while flying like the gyro had went insane, you would have to land and recalibrate. According to the 2 threads on it over at rcgroups there were a lot of bad boards sent out and I'm guessing I was one of the lucky ones that got one. It was a fun bird when it flew right but I was never comfortable with it as I never felt I really had control over it.

Gonna be interesting to see how the Franken Cootie flies as basically it will be a v666 with Tarantula props.
