Eachine Falcon 250

Oh my WORD! Got this girl 5 days ago and holy smokes I'm in love! This was my first big leap out of the world of "toy" grade quads and I must say it is certainly a leap! I have never felt a rush like this with any RC quad or heli I have flown. The screaming power of this bird and flying her around the other day gave me warm fuzzy feelings in strange places, lol.

Also, FPV is far more difficult than I imagined. I suggest all pilots that have never used FPV take heed in the advice of others that I disregarded. Even though you are in a cockpit view, you lose many other senses that you have only when flying LOS.

Overall I can not say with words how much fun I am having and recommend this quad to anyone like me who is ready to take that next big leap into the world of racing quads!

Hi Philisweatly

I am very tempted to order the Eachine Falcon 250 but am concerned about a few things. What do they mean by saying "detachable inclined motor base"? Does it mean you can remove the plastic red inclined motor pads and re-attach the motors without the 10' angle? My worry is that with the inclined motors, it will be difficult to just hover still on one spot. As I understand it, if both sticks are held centre, it ill steadily move forward.

Thanks!

It is possible to remove the plates and remount the motors so they lay flat. I have not tried this yet but there are screws at the bottom that remove it from the arm.

As for hovering, it is very simple to just hold back a little bit on your pitch you keep her at a hover. The only downside is while in FPV the camera will be facing the sky and you can lose orientation easily.

I have a few videos of flight you can check out if you want.

Thanks a ton for the quick reply and clear answer! Appreciate the photo, couldn't find anything like that on the internet before.

Yeah, I'd like to check out your videos. I'm assuming it's on YouTube under the same username?

I've been flying the Falcon 250 since January and one thing I can say is it is "tough". When you are first learning to fly a racing quad you are going to crash, and crash hard. The ZMR clone frame handles the beatings well. The Falcon 250, for the price the toughness and the potential that this quad has, it's hard to beat. Sure there are more expensive quads with better fpv cameras and stronger fpv transmitters but for a RTF racing quad for under $220, it's a good buy. Strap a 1500mah 75c 4s lipo on it, push the sticks and watch this thing rip!!!

You have to switch into rate mode (or at least rattitude) and adjust your rates in the openpilot software. Yes, the racer and falcon come with the flysky I6

Well I run betaflight on my falcon and it is the best so far. Still learning a lot about tuning. But betaflight has been amazing for me.

Did you build yours or buy one assembled?

And I have a real day one question here but can someone tell me a little about what is involved with switching modes and adjusting rates on open pilot and/or beta flight software? I'm assuming all this invloves hooking everything up to a pc though and isn't done from the transmitter, correct?
