Newbie here - question on trim settings

Hi all, first post and first quadcopter. Good headstart as I've been into RCs since the mid-80s, so I'm knowledgeable regarding RX, TX, ESC, lipos etc. Also had a couple copters so have a bit of hand-eye coordination. That being said, I'm smart enough to know not go out and buy the latest greatest next big thing. Starting with a Skytech 62R and I must say for $40, this little bugger seems pretty good. So after that longwinded intro, here's my first question. I bind it and have all my trim settings at neutral and it hovers very nice, just the odd little touch here and there to keep it in place. Run dozens of packs and last night it started drifting to the right (Don't know the lingo yet but I believe this is yaw?) Up/Dow & Forward/Back is stable, but to keep it from drifting right, I have to adjust the trim 4 or 5 clicks to the left. But now I notice that although it hovers in place, it's not level, but leaning left of horizontal. So I'm assuming that it's fighting itself to hold it's position and you can notice by the lack of response, shorter run time. Is there other trim adjustments that I don't know about that will negate this, or could something just be out of wack from one (or 20) too many crashes. Nothing wobbles and blades seem straight

slightly to the left

You could have a motor that is getting weak. Does this run little coreless DC motors?

Yaw is rotating, pitch is tilting forward and back, roll is tilting to the left or right.

Thanks for the info, roll is what I'm talking about. Don't know about the motors, other than it was one of the few cons that was mentioned in the reviews. I'm a tinkerer, first thing I did was make an adapter so I could charge the batteries with my regular charger rather than the supplied USB charger, so maybe I'll look into better motors. But is it even worth it for a $40 quad. Uh oh, I think I'm developing a new addiction.

The motors on the toy quads for the most part disposable parts. For instance on my Syma X11 I just replaced my second set. I'm getting about 11 hrs of flying out of them. The good think is these motors are cheap. I also break in new motors by running them at the slowest speed possible for a battery checking for heat every couple of minutes. If I find a hot motor l let it cool.

Thanks for the info, my LHS has lots of parts so I'll grab some extra motors. I'll also try some new props and see if that helps. So far though, my experience with a drone has been soooo much better than helis

What happened the last time you crashed a heli? ;)
