Unexpected Newbie

Thanks RGJ, I think your advice, with the previous from Holtneil and JGH, should get me there. Thanks everybody. Jim.

Hi all
I think I have managed to get a
Isaw Air WiFi Action Cam 1080p Full HD
and
Quanum DIY FPV Goggle Set with Monitor
presumably I'd need some kind of wifi receiver for the goggle set.
I know the wifi system will be of limited usefulness outside the house, Can I use a
Eachine FPV 5.8G 32CH Wireless AV Receiver RC832
and a suitable transmitter on the camera?
I've seen
Boscam FPV 5.8G 200mW AV Wireless Transmitter TS351 as an example
but I don't know if it will be compatible and whether I would need a course in electronics to wire it up.
I don't doubt that I'm going at it in entirely the wrong way, but I guess that's normal.
thanks for any sage advice.
Jim

Hi Jim its ment to connect to your Smart phone through WI FI I will have a look and see if it can be done another way
I dont think it can there is a mini hd output your need some thing that will convert the signal that comes out to say 5.8g for the an FPV receiver can receive it for the goggles
I may be wrong and some one knows how to
AS you go the goggles why dont you just fit a small FPV camera and just use the Isaw to record

I looked at the manual it shows HD tv out and usb some times the usb will let use this as an out but you may get Lag in the picture , If it was me I would fit a tiny FPV system to the Phantom say 5.8g so you have some good range on it then just record on the Isaw ,if you put the software on your phone you can let some one else see what you see and also control the recording of the camera
Or hang on to the goggle for another build and just mount your smart phone to the transmitter and fly that way

Merry Christmas everybody.
I have a problem.
Or two.
The first is that I have a Quanum FPV. I had no trouble assembling it, but there's no battery...Looking for one I discover that the kit has been largely replaced (since I bought it a couple of days ago) with V2 which uses a lower voltage battery. Mine needs a 12v and some kind of charger. Any ideas?
The second challenge is that the camera (http://www.hobbyking.co.uk/hobbykin...i_Action_Cam_1080p_Full_HD_w_Accessories.html) which arrived yesterday doesn't seem to want to talk to my ipad mini. The password seemed to work and the app loaded, but the wifi connect button symbol on the ipad has a cross through it suggesting something is wrong.

Hi mate they are 7 volt if you have the mark 1 goggles which will be a 2 cell lipo if it is 12 volts like you say it is then a 3 cell lipo any thing about the 2200 mah will do

Thanks holtneil, I'll have a look .
I power my v1 set with a 11.1v (actually ~12.5v at full) 3S lipo. The same 3S lipo I use on some of my quads. I believe you made a mistake by getting the V1 goggles hahaha. Might upgrade some time down the road as the v2 are a lot better quality.

Hi GHJ105775. I think you are right, it may have been the way I was looking, I hadn't registered the V2 option, and probably not helped by Hobbyking using the opportunity to unload old stock. Ah well, you live and learn. I'll look out some 3 cell LiPo batteries. Now that I am beginning to understand the hardware, hindsight becomes clearer. I'm hoping to bolt on a
Skyzone Plug & Play FPV 200-Set With TS5823 TX, RC832 RX, Sony CCD and Circular Polarized Antennas and presumably somebody does a 3cell LiPo with twin outputs for the receiver end. I'm hoping the ribbon cables under the Phantom2 will run the camera and transmitter. Thanks for your help. Jim.

I recently bought a walkera runner 250 upgraded basic 2 package that comes with the devo 7, hd camera and image transmission module. I am trying to find an inexpensive but good quality fpv goggles. I have been looking at the quanum v2. My question is what all do I need in order to use an fpv system with my quad.

Hi your need goggles and a FPV receiver and a battery , your need to find out what the transmission module transmits at it says 5.8g, 8 channel in the spec that I found

Okay so say I get the quanum v2 goggles, can you give me an estimate on how much I'd be spending for the fpv receiver?

Hi Folks, I see that my computer, a Mac, has difficulty in reading some micro sd cards from the isaw air, should I reformat to fat16, fat32 or what? Thanks.

Thanks holtneil, I was poking at the problem and removed a program that was on the sd card. I'm not sure why but the problem went away and the camera now seems to record and the computer seems to be able to read it. I think the program was to enable the camera to talk to a smart-phone, but since my phone isn't smart and my ipad seems to be too old to upgrade, I'll not worry for now. Thanks.
