Need help with parts list

Hey guys,
I'm new to the forum here and new to quadcopters in general. I'm looking to build my first fpv quad and need help selecting appropriate parts.

My budget is $400 AU
I already have a gopro hero 3 black which I would like to be mounted in the fpv system. And unless I can use my windows tablet as a display (which didn't seem likely) I'll need a moniter as well. I would like to have a pretty good flight time so if my budget needs to be adjusted thats okay. Would love a gps system as well but am unsure of the costs so i'm probably in over my head at this point. Also note I do not have a controller at this time.

Hope i'm not too much of a noob, your help is much appreciated :)

APM is probably your best chance at GPS features with this budget, multiwii is a little cheaper, but a lot harder to setup.


Just a guess or example suggestion to go off of:

flight controller
A Turnigy 9x radio and receiver
some 800-980kv motors
20 - 30 amp ESCs (depending on the motors)
required servo wires
400mm-500mm frame
some 9' - 12'' props (depending on the motors, lower KV motors can usually handle bigger props for better flight times and lifting)
