Are we doomed by the ignorance of the masses?

A lot of speculation going on in that last video. She needs to ask what if they do not cause issues that we think they should be causing. I like how she put words into the pilots mouth. Literally swerve.. O_o

Yeah hahaha, how do you swerve in a gyro copter? xD They are not cars, and the pilot was certainly reluctant to say that, also a bit amused at being called an expert.

On a slightly more serious note, I just watched a major consumer advice programme on TV here in the UK.
'Drones' and the dangers of them were featured quite heavily indeed, most notably there was a story about a toddler who suffered the loss of an eye in an incident. It didn't once mention the stupidity of the user who flew the rather substantial quad with the toddler in the immediate vicinity, just concentrated on the 'dangerous drone'.
I've only just got into this hobby so it would be a real shame if ignorant and sensationalist media were to influence some kind of ridiculous restriction on responsible users like myself.
Rant over, carry on.

"Toddler looses eye to baseball"
"toddler loses eye in stroller accident"
"Toddler Loses Eye To Cracker"
"Toddler could lose her eye after catching infection"
"Toddler loses eye after doctors misdiagnose cancer as a hamster allergy"

I don't see a trend of limits on any of these, but a toy quad controlled by an idiot hits a kid and you see people crying to limit these "flying death machines" .

Banning a hobby, this is getting crazy...

I could understand if they are so worried that they made it mandatory to take a safety course or something before you can fly. I would think that was stupid too, but at least it would still leave a path to fly.

There are so many crazies in this world, especially in this country that you will hear this kind of bs for years to come.
At the same time, I do see more and more idiots on the other end with a remote in their hands. I've seen a few videos on youtube where some idiots are flying their quads into people on purpose. Dive bombing them from above, coming up from behind and trying to get a woman's hair caught in the props and laughing about it the whole time. People like that are going to give the other crazies even more fuel for the fire.
